QUICK EDIT FOR PEOPLE WANTING TO PLAY ON WHEEL: It rocks, especially if you have a manual H-Shifter. Blasting through gears to get past Wanderers and new Rivals feels awesome. It's immensely easy to set up and well-worth the time. With even more hours put in, wheel is the way to go. So much fun.

I've only just cleared the first three Groups, but I gotta say: if you liked TXR3, you'll love this game.

One massive tangible benefit over the original TXR games is the handling feels much more responsive and less "on ice" as compared to TXR3.

$30 for Early Access with tons of content and optimization (on UE5 which is a literal miracle) means you get your moneys worth before the game is even 100% completed.

No "online only" requirement and a focus on Singleplayer makes this one of the new top-tier Steam Deck racing games.

The single best part of this TXR game (and truth be told with the series in general) is that you stick with specific cars for LONG periods of time. You feel invested and personally attached to the cars you build, upping their performance, visually modifying them, and even designing custom liveries. It completely avoids the modern day "festival racer" problem of cars ultimately meaning nothing because you get a new one every 5 minutes. The cars you build in Tokyo Xtreme Racer FEEL like they belong to you. Each one is an investment and a long-time project.

I beg anyone even remotely interested in racing games to buy Tokyo Xtreme Racer and give it a shot. Genki's return to the racing scene is felt, appreciated, and frankly, a massive breath of fresh air. Cannot wait to play it further.
