It is easy to use from a player point of view and from a GM point of view the large library of community made maps ensures there is always something you can use for your sessions in a pinch. The ability to just plop down any figures you want at any time is incredibly nice and it isn't bound to any TTRPG system so you can use it to do any amount of homebrew shenanigans in your game.

Really fun social deduction game with several valid strategies. Short queue times, quick matches, and great for a lan party setting.

Incredible and helpful community and dedicated devs. The game never begs for money and never makes you pay to keep progressing. Overall most F2P games could learn a lot from these guys. Icing on the cake is it will never not be fun to sprint around at mach speed and cut down enemies.

It's developed a lot and the devs really didn't give up when the public opinion of the game crashed. Gotta respect this little labor of love.

In fact Guns of Icarus not only has a lot of high-level strategic depth, it also gives many opportunities for players to show off and excel with their mechanical skills. Examples of high-level play include ship positioning, flanking, ship loadouts, and min/maxing of engineering efficiency and gun damage. Examples of mechanical skills include engineering parkour tricks, reactionary piloting, and using hard-to-aim or long-range guns. "
