You know, this Kane guy seems pretty spooky but then I saw his bald head and knew "Yeah, he knows what he's doing."

This game is great but seemingly abandoned by the original developers.
Luckily, it is also Open Source and has working multiplayer, so I recommend going that route.

Battlefield for people that don't have friends.
(or like having fun)
(or don't like Battlefield)
(or don't want to pay 60 bucks)

Quintessential Space Ship Crew game.
You definitely need friends to play it though, otherwise you get dumb bots that can't do much.

In this game you play as an ancient robot commander created for wars that are so unbelievably large that the game's namesake is an option that's always in consideration. After an unknown amount of time since you and other independent commanders destroyed your creators, you switch on and immediately get back to work.

If you like Supreme Commander and don't mind being way more aggressive this game is great fun.

Great soundtrack too, especially ingame.

Okay so you know how in like the early 2010s alot of videogames had characters do awesome stuff in Cutscenes that was plain cartoony but straight out of an action movie?
That's this game.

I mean the Cutscenes.

As it turns out, security isn't fond of return trips to glowing alien towers.

This game was made in 1998 and it has the jank to prove it.
Despite that fact, it IS Half Life-1 and holds alot of history in its genre and videogames as a whole.

A friend said it's kinda easy to get motion sick because of the slidey movement, so if that happens and you didn't exceed 2 hours don't feel too bad about missing out on this game.

there's a Remake called Black Mesa that is considerably more modern and made by fans.
Up until the end it's very faithful to this game and is in my honest completely anecdotal opinion a better experience across the board.

Otherwise, I'd recommend you play this first. It's an amazing experience seeing the leap in technology first hand and playing BM first would sorta muddle the waters.

A game about rescuing someone and fighting everything tooth and nail to do so...

...but multiplayer is the story of surrogate fathers abandoning their shared child and forming the great city of 'Montaplasmasus' and bombing the local cannibal tribes with IEDs.
