Somehow I've ended up as a reviewer through my Steam Curator "Is there a master volume slider?"

Scoot Kaboom and the Tomb of Doom is a tough precision platforming game in the same spirit of games like I Wanna Be The Guy / Boshy, albeit not as unforgiving nor does it have any combat components.

With that baseline, here's the good stuff:
- Music is pretty bumpin' chiptunes.
- Tight controls with support for keyboard, Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
- Challenging gameplay that's brutal, but fair.
- Art quality is good and very readable.
- Good accessibility options that I'll elaborate on below.

There's some adjustable difficulty options (tucked away in the 'mods' section). One of the mods adds extra save points, another mod lets you adjust the game speed (e.g. slow motion, fast forward if you're a masochist), etc. It's a simple thing to include, but it makes it so that anyone can complete the game despite its difficult nature.

Two points of criticism:
- The game is nearly bug free, but I did on a few occasions get stuck mid-air when landing on the corners of some blocks. I imagine the developer will patch this before long.

- The 'Main Game' portion isn't very long. I cleared it with about 550 deaths in about an hour and forty minutes. There's extra modes / modifiers on the stage, but I know some folks are stingy on game-length-to-dollar-value. While it is short, I did feel immensely satisfied when I cleared the Main Game for the first time. There's an excellent ending section that I won't spoil in the review, but it makes beating the game all the sweeter.

Overall, Scoot Kaboom and the Tomb of Doom is a pretty solid little indie game.

Good luck beating the Endurance mode where you have to clear the entire game without dying - woof.
