I almost didnt get this game because of all the haters with no clue. if you are even a slight fan of Asterix comics, or classic side scrolling beat-em-ups, then this game is an essential. the animations capture the feel of the comics soooo well with some classic moves you will love, such as Asterix picking up a roman and swinging him over his head to knock down others, or Obelix picking up a roman and slapping him silly then punching him into the sky leaving his roman sandals behind. there are lots of references and play throughs of several of the comic stories ive seen so far. Dogmatix even follows Obelix around, though to the best of my knowledge he doesnt attack or anything.

the people hating on this game are clueless. there are people hating on this game because it doesnt have video options like playing in windowed mode, or alt languages, which btw, it does have alt languages, I changed mine to French to feel more official. who gives a game a bad review because you cant play in windowed mode? this person doesnt like gaming, they just like Windows 10 and programs they can use to open more windows in Windows 10.

there are people hating on it because the enemies are repetitive. ignoring the fact that most of these whiners barely have an hour in the game to see if the enemies change, I can assure you that they do. ive clobbered romans, pirates, vikings, gladiators, highwaymen and im only in chapter 3 so far. further, its Asterix and Obelix, if you know anything about them or are even a slight fan you know that a lot of romans get clobbered, and this game is no different. im not sure what they thought happens in Asterix comics.

another group of whiners complains that there aren't powers or gear to unlock to make you more powerful. that is correct in my experience so far, however it seems they have no idea of what a side scroller beat-em-up is. Streets of Rage, Final Fight, TMNT, x-men, Simpsons are some of the best beat-em-ups ever and none of them have ways to level up your character other than the original old school way your character gets better, by playing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and getting good at it. I guess some of them let you pick up a lead pipe to clobber someone with, in this game you can pick up a roman and clobber people..

another person complained that its just a mash X simulator. sure, you can play the game and just mash X (light hit), but there is a block, grab, hard hit and jump button you can use too, and mixing them up gets you different combos and attacks. I assume the same complainer is giving Forza racing game a ♥♥♥♥ review calling it a holding X simulator.

visually this game is perfect, as even the haters have to admit, and technically this game plays very well. responsive controls, lots of moves and I havent even figured out how to do the special moves yet. the enemy AI is impressive too, when youre clobbering romans, they actually try roman tactics, stick in a group and throw spears, if you knock them around they will gradually migrate back into formation. the romans are simple to beat up, however if you let them group up and throw spears it can be tricky. overall I find it has a lot of advanced AI tactics that work quite well and I havent seen ANY other beat-em-up compare, im very impressed. as well its nothing to have 15-20 characters on the screen and it doesnt lag or cause any issues. in some cases the enemies moves end up being timed in a way that if they surround you, it can be hard to get back on your feet, but I find that is rare and once you know, you can avoid it fairly easily.

if I had to complain, I would mention that if you get too close to an enemy, it will register your are facing wrong direction and not hit the enemy. its a classic issue in beat-em-ups, they all have it but this one its a bit more pronounced, as well it can be a bit slow to change facing direction, especially if you hit an attack button, but I must add these are small issues. I also find that the game more than makes up for it by having other moves giving generously easy hits. I guess the regular price is slightly up there, im not saying its not worth the $30 but after playing it $20 and buying this is a no-brainer, steam sale has it for $13 which is easily worth it.

overall this is a solid beat-em-up, probably in the top of the genre with the other titles I mentioned, with some of the best AI, and true to the source material graphics. I would say you dont need to know anything about Asterix to love this game if you are a fan of classic beat-em-ups. If you are a fan of Asterix and Obelix at all you should have stopped reading this and bought the game after the first couple sentences. especially if its on sale.

this game is very well written, i find myself fully immersed in it, having the time of my life investigating every clue. its fairly linear, but has a few different story options.

this game really breaks down on the stealth levels though, completely infuriating. theyre great at first, you sneak around waiting for a guard to pass, but you have no clue what to do or where to go, there are several puzzles for you to complete that can get you out of there but then you get caught and you have to go back to last save. after a while you start to tire of taking 20 minutes to sneak around one thing and you just want to run through the place trying to find the thing you need. there is no way to kill enemies or to pass the level without doing steath BS. i went from thinking about how much i love this game to how much i want to smash some things because of this game. thankfully the stealth levels are in minority.

i feel as if i tried hard to discover why people are playing this game but im just so bored. there are tons of enemies and they attack in waves but theyre all weak mobs that have no real chance of hurting you, your abilities are the same as countless other games. this reminds me of a mobile game, or a console game, you just run around and you have like 8 buttons. i have quests in this town so i roam around trying to find it and when i do theres some force feild up, like i have to advance other quests first before the town opens up to me. wtf. add all this up with the fact that IDGAF about the story, characters or really anythign about this game. so many better options out there for mmorpgs that dont make you force yourself to play, you actually enjoy it and want to play.

this is a great game for fans of battletech or just everyone. good story, open to progress at your pace. lots of the popular mechs, though i think theyre from the DLC. there was nothing i didnt like about this game. i found the graphics remarkable, just the way the mechs collapse or pieces fall off when you blast it. sending a cloud of LRMs across the battlefield and blowing parts off the enemy is very satisfying. there are lots of battle types and maps. i ended up liking this game way more than i thought i would, i love travelling in space as a mechwarrior taking contracts and getting C-bills and salvage.

great mix of person/mech combat, lots of action, explosions. you can to lots of bad @$$ moves running on walls and shooting. the guns are a good selection and it feels satisfying seeing and hearing you bullets ripping apart the enemy. great graphics. satisfying FPS.

sick graphics, good story. 18 hours in and still no good force powers, just pushing and pulling things to solve puzzles. force meter is too small to really enjoy the force, push 2 guys and its out, most non-basic troopers have immunity because theres always a ledge and itd be easy to push a boss of a cliff. need to kill to get more force. really hoping later levels let you walk around blasting everyone with lightning like force unleashed.

if you want to fight with DC characters this game is it. the graphics are sick, its similar to mortal kombat. the story mode for this game is great, it feels as if youre playing a comic book. there are many chances for you to select which hero you want to fight with so you can play a few times.

the characters level up and have gear and outfits you can unlock in game. the selection of characters is pretty good and the fight styles seem different.
