I don't know why this game was given such a low score, for an open world zombie survival game it is a LOT better than almost everything else out there. It is true that it requires a little more polish (more survivers to potentially join you, more base upgrades, more manufacturing options, more gun types [melee weapon selection is pretty damn good], and maybe a few more possible areas for base locations), but that is just nick picking improvements on what is already pretty damn good. The graphics are consistant and I haven't run into a glitch in the map yet, zombie types and general behaviour is great (the AI rarely does stupid stuff, unlike in many other games), and the voice acting (though somewhat repetative) is great. I would definately recommend this game to anyone who loves zombie apocalypse survival games.

Absolute garbage. When you finally get past all of the bugs and glitches of the game, there is literally only 7 things you can craft, and the survival aspect is a joke. What a waste of good money. Why can't survival games be done right anymore?

A pathetically sad addition to an otherwise amazing game series. Yes, number two did not have as good of a story as the first game, but having less of a story is better than having none at all. Bioshock 2 at least improved upon the gameplay of the first, upgrading it. This game is just a shameless shooter with barely any ''RPG'' elements at all. The worst thing is having to babysit the damn NPC all the time, and she constantly gets stuck on the bloody skyrails.

There are no dark corridors, no frightening enemies, no moments of supsense, the upgrades to your character are a joke, the story (or lack of it) is a joke. Don't buy this game unless its on sale for less than $5.99, or else you are wasting your money, and your time.

A great addition to the Geneforge series with upgraded graphics, and an easier interface to use. Not better than the fourth game, in my opinion, but far superior to all of the others.

I have reviewed the entire original series in far more depth here if you wish to read more about them: https://gameknightly.com/reviews/review-geneforge-original-series/

The first Geneforge game I played, and still by far my most favourite. This is an excellent game, and one of the best top down, turn based RPGs I have ever played. If you like games like the original Fallout games, or Baldurs Gate, then you have to play this.

Almost completely unplayable, I love the series, but this game really needs to be remade like the first Avernum game.

Edit: The game has been remade! You can find my review of the remade game here: https://gameknightly.com/reviews/review-geneforge-1-mutagen/

Another great addition to the Geneforge series, but not as good as the fourth or the fifth games. Surprisingly, it is also not really much better than the second game. Still better than number one though, in terms of actually being able to play it.

An amazing game, that I found to be far more playable and accessible than the first game; and actually a bit easier to play than the third. If you like classic turn based, top down RPGs like Fallout or Baldurs Gate, Geneforge is the game series for you.

A great game that I have played since it was in development. It has come a long way since then, but I have the same character now as I did then, a lancer! Use a horse and lance and you can defeat armies singlehandedly.

A great remake of the original series, but like all Spiderweb games, make sure to leave your sanity at the door. The quests bug up so easily, making this amazing game hard to play to the end.
