The Steam version has been broken for years, and is generally unplayable without any signs of being updated to work.
Either Pirate it, or just don't bother.
You'd be buying a broken product if you bought it here.

I originally left this review in 2019 - and the game is still unplayable without community available patches.
I honestly, and really do believe that Steam SHOULD NOT sell products like this. The game is one-hundred percent unplayable at purchase, you specifically have to find outside support to get the same to run. The game should simply be fixed from the start.

As much as I like that the game is available to get in the first-place, the fact it is unplayable in the degree of quite literally being technically unable to play without community patch - really leaves the question that is your business really valued?

If you liked Yakuza 0 - you'll like this game. It's a general continuation of the story from Yakuza 0, but, does take a few steps back in some departments.
For example: Boss Battles are pretty terrible. The game handles difficulty by generally just throwing Bosses that can constantly stunlock you and can dodge and interrupt your attacks with ease and by grabbing you mid-animation.

It's still a great game with a lot of value to its money - but has a few problems in terms of difficulty scaling and with the fun factor to Bosses.

When I first played the game months and months ago - I only really got past the first section, and ended up giving up and not wanting to play.
I felt like there was just too much to do, and that to get a good and full experience I'd have to spend lots and lots of time into getting a decent experience in the game.

I refunded - then left it for awhile.
I came back about one week ago, and had a mindset of getting the game at least finished - and as I went through it, I got more and more into it, until I ended up doing practically everything.

Now? I'm fully invested in the series.
This is a great game that is worth the price - infact, even at the undiscounted price - this game 100% gives you your moneys worth AND MORE.
Unlike a lot of games now adays - this game is a welcome change, that is a complete product PLUS so much more things to do.
This Kiwami 1 and 2 are definately worth a buy.

A beat game that is out of tune.
When you have to take your head-phones off to actually follow the beat of obstacles you know the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

A good excuse to replay Half-Life 2

Kinda fun, kinda boring.

I was hesitant to buy the game at first as all of the screenshots and stuff sort of conflicted my judgement, it looked cool - but failed to sort of capture a feeling of gameplay.
This game is in the same catagory as 'Papers, Please' but lacks an overwhelming risk to the gameplay outside of the monthly targets you have to get or you'll be evicted.
However -
This game makes up for its lack of gameplay with its stella characters, and interesting storyline and writing, I'd recommend this to older people for the most part - as it shines on elements of life and depression and such in the same way that something like Bojack Horseman does and you've sort of had to have a little bit of experience in those sort of 'elements' to enjoy the game for what it is.

I really do not regret this purchase - and really enjoy the game. It's very long, I've put more then 18+ hours into it now and still have not hit the ending yet.

TL;DR:
It's an interesting conversation game in a cool world w/ very little gameplay, but incredibly good characters and story.

What I'd like to see in the future:
Maybe dialogue options, or extra gameplay features - for example; I was expecting to be able to choose if I'd play to pick 'Truth or Dare' during that part of the story, but, instead it allows you to pick a character you'd like to dare/truth but it'll just auto pick something for you - or, if someone picked you during Truth or Dare, it'd once again just auto-pick for you.

One of the best RTS games ever made - if you do not own it buy it as soon as possible and enjoy the Furry Russian Revolution.
The music is some of the greatest music EVER in a game - created by Austin Wintory if you have a few extra bob buy the soundtrack.
Honestly - if you ask me? Everyone should own and play this game at least once, even if RTS is not really your thing (like me).
