very much worth full price. come on! it's five bucks! that's the cost of a monster energy drink, depending on where you live.

water system: you're supposed to do quests. that's the fastest way to stockpile water. some of the easy, grey territory quests will net you 1 to 2 water in a mission where it's easy to pick some up. the starting map is a few hundred feet.

I played through the entire beginning of Taora today, and I think the game has tons of potential to be Weird and Different from other survival style games, just on vibes alone. There's a feeling of something casual and relaxing about playing it in contrast to things like Unturned or Rust, where there could be a real singleplayer campaign here.

The developers should think about doubling down on how Weird the game is, and look to things like Far Cry 2 and V Rising for inspiration - the vibes here are immaculate, and I enjoyed driving around the countryside and listening to the twin peaks soundtrack while pulling over to headshot zombies and looting places. Denser, deeper, freakier. I enjoy how dark the game gets at night time - it's almost scarier.

please let me play as a girl. maybe one with an eyepatch!

on the fringes of videogame society lays a sequestered realm of freaks, making things that there is little else like out there.
one such story is verdict: descent, a real-roleplay fantasy videogame that unfortunately had to promise a community the world when it was mostly already right there in front of them.

outside of older software like ss13, that is not exactly the same and sits for an even freakier subset of freaks, verdict: descent as it was currently released was unfinished, but deeply filled with the love of the community that worked to make the setting something unique and the roleplayers who logged on every day to hash our relationships between their characters that drove the ongoing, overarching plot with a personal touch the intricacies of a triple aaa highly coded and polished game do not allow. they are, in a way, representing the cutting edge of videogames as a true possibility place for personal and emotional expression that goes beyond creating an avatar.

well, it was nice to peak my head in and i wish the developer's dreams of videogame come true.
verdict descent was cool

BOTTOM LINE: **** (OUT OF 4) STARS:
"Verdict Descent is Videogames, Forever."

i know this ones gonna go to the top of the list. they used to make a lot of single player fighting games and tense combat games like Sword Master and Barbarian back in the day and it's cool to see them extrapolating that into a character action game again.

i've played about all i need to of Unconventional Warfare so far to get into the main campaign - the story is cute and the aesthetic is a love letter to Valkyria Chronicles. the tactical action is building up to be a lot more layered and consistent between missions than the breezy summer day that is VC, so if you're a fan of more complex action this is one to watch out for.

AN OUTCRY came to me late last year and quickly made it to the top of the list for games i'll eternally offer as a fantastic place to see the breadth of writing that videogames can offer. it's one of the greats.
