Genuinely cannot recommend it as is. Horrible performance, riddled with bugs, I can say with confidence that half of the content outside the main quest genuinely does not work.

Wait for it to be patched in about a year, or be prepared to do some heavy lifting with modding.

There's a good game here and its trying.

Darktide is a game that a few weeks ago I would have firmly said "No" to the question of "Do you recommend this?" But since then I've given it a bit more time, and a little more thought, and I've come around to recommending it. For 60? No. Thankfully, I have a feeling Fatshark knew this, and I can happily say it is well worth the 40, even more so if and when it goes on sale.

The gameplay is very chunky in many ways. It feels hefty (good!) but also can tank even expensive rigs (bad!!!!, they are still clearly figuring this out).

The design however is next to none in quality. If you have played Mechanicus and found yourself in love with that presentation of the Mechanicus aesthetically, be ready to fall back in love with the setting's design. The music, the designs themselves, the characters, the level design, it is all very genuinely 40K.

If you can get it on sale after a while, you will feel as if you've gotten more than your money's worth. Right now, your mileage may vary, but you'll still have a good time.

Early Access Review
A very uniquely designed Roguelite clearly in the style of its contemporaries, but with a strange charm to it that I can't put into words very well. If you like very artistically driven games, you're bound to find some enjoyment in this, even for those who aren't extremely into FPS games.

Fun, just buy it with the second Season Pass- you get a bit more bang for your buck with that.

Notice: The vast majority of negative reviews given between the dates of 6-19-18 and 6-21-18 are due to an issue with the Korean translation of Darkest Dungeon. Very few if any of these reviews say anything about the quality of the game or have any criticisms of it aside from the Korean trnaslation controversy.

I will start this by adressing the most common issue people have woth the game, which is the RNG. People often adress this from the point of certain games were the RNG heavily favors the player, not from the perspective of someone who enjoys difficult experiences. Darkest Dungeon uses the RNG punishingly. From the very main menu it warns you of this. The game is about choices. Difficult choices. Sometimes these choices will get members of your party killed. In literally every playthrough you will have heroes die. Get used to it, because it will happen a lot.

Darkest Dungeon is about chance, along with being smart and playing it safe. You will constantly need to be on your feet and alert, or you will be punished for it.

If you need to, retreat and cut your losses, or face the death of your party.

Evil is timeless, after all.

Aside from the learning curve of the controls, this game is extremely fun and is a must-have if you are a fan of older RPGS.
