The speed limits in the game are just done wrong and its obnoxious.

speed limits through vegas should be like 45, not 30. other small towns have speed limits like 25. where in the US has areas with 25mph speed limits that you regularly see big rigs?

the game also has stupid speed limit changes, its 45, then 5 second later its 80, then 3 seconds later its 55, and you get a ticket. yes, speed traps are a thing, but lets have some player agency please, if player get a ticket, it should be because they choose to speed (had enough time to make the choice and choose to ignore it) not because its literally impossible to obey the speed limits even if you brake as much as humanly possible the second you see the sign. dumb.

AI is still beyond retarded. they will do 45 in a 70. in real life, police would pull that person over and hit them with fines for obstructing traffic. it shouldnt exist in the game, its like these cars are just there to troll the player. good one devs! not.

progression makes no sense. progression should involve some quick small rewards, followed by working your way up through meaningful milestones. instead, the bank wants to give you over half a million bucks on your second day of trucking. enough to hire some drivers, buy some trucks, and immediately retire to the office and just manage! sure. that should be the end goal...not your second day on the job. also the unlocks make no sense, they can be a step back. you can quickly make good money hauling construction equipment...great, do that enough and you can unlock buying a dry box to move your own goods, like...toys...which pays half as much. if you make that mistake, you are better off to sell the box and take the loss.

in game UI is garbage as far as helpful information. there are some tooltips, but they just point to different areas of the screen. "here is where you buy things", "here is the clock", etc. nothing helpful like what the differences between engines, transmissions and chassis are for...there is not enough info for players to make informed choices.

the prices for the states (content) are asinine. they launch states at over $10. there is NOT $10 worth of content, and the game will certainly not be worth ~$500 to get all the states. they should be $0.99 at most. these seem to take forever to make, despite them being nothing but copy/pasted content. you will probably replace your entire computer twice before they actually finish the states. whats even worse, is that with the default states, California totally sucks. 55mph max speed limit... while this is accurate (yes California sucks this much in real life) its totally not worth even playing the game on that part of the map. they should have started development focusing on the East Coast.

pros: driving the trucks feel about how you would expect. if you want to play it for the novelty, maybe its worth it when its on sale for $5 if you plan to never buy any DLC.

cons: speed limits are wrong, speed traps are stupid, AI drivers sucks, Progression is wrong, uninformative tooltips, and the prices for DLC are insulting. they should have called this Highway Robbery Simulator.

BOTTOM LINE: spend $5 at most and prepare yourself for mild disappointment. avoid all DLCs.

EDIT: my advice if you want to play this game, dont buy any of the state DLCs. you can just download a mod called COAST TO COAST (C2C) which unlocks the whole country and fills it with cities made by the community. no reason to buy the overpriced states ever. you can just have the whole country for free right away. you may need to use the steam properties options and set it to use an earlier build of the game, but i got it working fine.
