An absolute masterpiece, truly a transcendence of what videogames can be as an art form, every conversation every interaction is written in such an engaging manor. This RPG may be one of the best of all time, in one instance i discussed the merits of advanced race theory with a meathead dock worker as he chides me about my racial failures and weaknesses. He talks about how two races could never interbreed because the one's lack of an ability to maintain an erection due to the others "potato stench". This game is funny, sad, manic, and above all else wildly compelling. Combat is a non-focus for this game and in that way this RPG truly feels like an expression of individualism and a respect for the art form that is unparalleled to this point. Game of the year 2019 and possibly game of the decade for me, do yourself a favor, buy the game, become the hobocop, drug addict, psycho you've always wanted to be, if you can handle the the reading this game is easily worth your time, buy it and experience one of the most poignant narratives to ever be presented by the art form.

A fun game for a while

-The Good

-The combat in this game is fun and fluid , the first couple levels were great.
- The minimalist art style really helps cut out the visual noise while also helping to focus the player's attention on the action.
-The Endless Mode
-Impaling digital baddies with a thrown katana

The Bad

- the campaign quickly devolved into less of a challenge once i figured out that you can Source engine-style strafe jump around all of the red guys. This essentially turned the remainder of the game into a cake walk.
- 2-3 hour campaign
-Price ($25)

Overall

Fun game with a sleek art style, buy it when on sale; use the katana.

Favorite Game of all time, best multiplayer hands down every time.

This game's real fun comes from its skill ceiling which is incredibly high, you start by getting your face pummeled harder then any game out there, because you are given tools that are competitive ( if not the best outright) straight off the bat and it is up to you to learn how to use them effectively. This game has a long sought after formula for a near perfect multiplayer system that has in my opinion never been truly matched by those that attempted to ape its style.
Advanced movement techniques in this game are so incredibly satisfying in that they operate as skill inputs and are really limited only by player skill. anyone can shoot a single rocket on the ground and jump, but add walls, ramps, slides, pogos, syncs, and surfs; all while trying to outgun your opponent who's doing the same; it becomes muscle memory and i enjoyed every second of it. This is one of the most complex shooters of all time with some many mechanics that have been fine tuned and balanced to create the best multiplayer shooter ever made; change my mind.

I started this game as a 13 year old and i keep coming back 11 years later.
