-The main hardening mechanic is not interesting, just hold the harden button down untill you get hit. 0 timing involved and it's super safe and generous. If it worked more like a mid animation parry it'd actually be fun to use.
-Shells are neat I suppose but most only have 1/2 skills that actually matter, the rest might aswell just be filler.
-Low enemy variety. Constantly fighting the same 3/5 dudes copy pasted 20 times.
-Every enemy, including bosses just instantly falters to basic hit and run tactics. Harden makes these tactics even more safe and braindead.
-Later areas handle enemy encounters the same way Dark Souls 2 DLCs did: Place a bunch of dudes next to each other that you feasibly can't fight at the same time without getting hit, thus constantly requiring you to bait and lure enemies. Either that or you just run past them entirely.
-Consumable healing items are fine, but atleast let me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy them with tar. I'm not sticking around to harvest a bunch of mushrooms over the course of an hour.
