It isn't often that you find a game that would be outright ruined by a basic tutorial, but this is it. It starts out super strong. You meet a lot of strange npcs, the strange items and crafting system create a lot of mystery, and the game is very challenging. phenomenal first impression all around.

You learn pretty quick that the npcs dont matter and the story is practically nonexistent, so the gameplay is going to do a lot of heavy lifting, but it fails to hold up. This is why the game doesnt have a tutorial: it would have shown just how overpowered but shallow the crafting system is. all of the challenge goes out the window once you figure it out, along with all the complexity you were initially promised.

I've never had a game fall off so hard after the 8 hour mark. by the end is was just a slog, my victories were determined in the first few floors and the rest is just a slog.
