For the first time in any Total War game since I was a kid I actually lost in a campaign. I don't know how, as I somewhat ignored diplomacy my first game, but suddenly I was at war with every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ faction on the map. I tried to survive as long as I could, but at the end I ahd to concede to Liu Bei and his 3 doomstacks

Finally a challenging Total War game.

P.S: The game kept spamming me to lower the difficulty, low-key telling me "you suck". Damn, that's savage.

Noooooooo! Just as the game was getting good. I guess the game never procured the necessary initial following for DLC's to be viable, but damn it, couldn't they have shelved EU4 instead. I know it brings in a lot more money, but I am sad to see the potential of this game go to waste, as well as the money i put into the DLC's to show my support.

RIP IMPERATOR: ROME

One of the greatest strategy-rpg's out there - yet with the base cost of a MMO.
Funny I mentioned MMO's. The way I look at it, it is kinda like a yearly subscription to my favourite game to keep it getting updated. And like most mmo players, I have no problem with that. I get just as many hours in the game as a (casual) wow player might get, and I still pay less or maybe just as much as he has during his monthly fees over the years.

The only problem I see with this dlc strategy is that new players have to pay a tremendous sum of money in a much shorter time span than we early players did. We could just remove a few bucks from our accounts every 5 months. That's why, if you're a new player. Buy the vanilla and maybe a few dlc's (a quick search on google and you'll find a forum with old players telling you the best suited ones for you, and yeah, a few are of questionable quality), there are often sales at 75%. Take your time. Bying them all at once might overwhelm you with content.

Many people say the base game is bad, but a lot of us got a lot of hours just in the vanilla version of the game, meaning that the base game itself is also good, if lacking. Just because it has reached a new standard, and we can't go back to what it used to be, doesn't mean it ain't good. Like some wise, yet slightly pessimistic guy said: "It's worse to gain something only to lose it, than never having it at all", and that is exactly what CK2 with all its dlc's is to us old players.

A really fun game, both alone and with friends. But though I haven't been playing all that much yet, there seems to be one flaw that might damage it in the long run: the lack of killers. When I play survivor alone I get a queue time sometimes over 10 mins, if I get to a lobby at all. As killer I get a match within ten seconds.

There are probably many reasons for this problem, but the biggest one imo is the community. Firstly, when you get into a match as a new(b) killer, the first thing you notice in the after-game lobby screen is that all the survivors are 15+, most of them lvl 25. This gives the survivors an unfair experience advantage both in perks and knowledge about the game.

Secondly, the survivors can be toxic as ♥♥♥♥. Just today after one match I've heard words like "autistic", "♥♥♥♥♥♥", "not bad. really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad" and so on. And these are the 25+ players. Sure, when you lose you can write stuff like "fcuking camper" and so on, but at least you are kicking up. Kicking down on a player that has lost is just untasteful and ruins any potential for new killers.

I've also noticed that the killers are a lot nicer than the survivors. Writing stuff like "gg" and "thx for the game" and "well played" and doing things like helping you if you're new by letting new players finish generators and escape or guide/carry the newb to the hatch.

All in all good game. Too bad the community is killing it. *ehm* Left for dead 2 *ehm*

This game is a must for all Swords and Sandals 2 lovers. If you played the free version of that game on the internet you know that there was no save function, which made the game so amazing and heart pumping. Nothing like playing the game for 5 hours, waiting for the moment the RNG god decides to put in an op gladiator, doing 700 damage in one hit. This game made me feel like that again.

An ironman or autosave function would attract more customers, which this game deserves, and it would also be more convinient for me as well in the long run, but don't let that scare you from trying the game (provided you have more than 2 hours free time to spare). All in all, I love it. Something is at stake - a few hours of your life, and it makes the game so much more interesting.

EDIT: Dude went too far. He can have whatever political opinion he wants, but the arrogant way he treats the customers who bought his game is not cool.

What better way to dishonor your ancestors than to relive the life of the guy who occupied your home country and murdered millions of people?
I might not get any inheritance from Grandpa, but it sure as hell was worth it

9.4/10. If you take the price into consideration: 10/10
This game is amazing. Yes, it has its faults, but remember, the price is low compared to other titles(like the new Civilization), so don't expect everything to come at day one. They will patch it with new free and paid content.

I know this is going to be one of the greatest "space" strategy games ever created.

(I didn't use 4x for obvious reasons)

This game is one of the best roleplay/strategy games I have ever played. SOme may say the AI is stupid, which it kinda is, but only to keep the game challenging. Speaking of challenging, this game will be a nightmare on the dlc missions. I recommend this game to everyone that wants a challenging, fun strategy roleplaying game.
