CK3, although quirky and reasonably fun, made me lose hope in the new phase of PDX titles.

VIC3, quirky and reasonably fun, gave me back that hope again.

Ah, finally an approachable, immersive space 4x sim!

Seems very impressive so far, especially considering the small dev team. Gonna give a thumbs up now at launch before really getting into the game, and rather change to a negative if it doesn't live up to the hype I gain from reading all the Game Concepts in the Help screen.

No problems with font or resolution on my part.

Like many others have pointed out: Great game, but do hold your horses if you want a stable, pleasurable experience. If not, be welcome to pay full AA price to beta-test the game so that the former patient players of the future will have a good first run.

The mechanics are great, although a lot of stuff don't work as it's supposed to. Still though, when it works, a lot of customization and choices to be made build-wise. And hey, if it isn't min-max optimal, just lower the difficulty.

Fighting feels really meaty and "impactful". And god, the dismemberment - best I've ever seen in a top-down RPG.

Story was good enough for me to get invested. Like many have pointed out, the last act and "final dungeon" feels a bit rushed.

Companions are fun for the most part. Arue, Camellia and Nenio were favorites. Only male contender was Daerian. Regill worked well as Lawful Evil. Most of the other boys were a bit weak. One problem with the companions is that they've got a lot of dialogue the first three acts, then pretty much go completely silent. I enjoy having stuff to do outside of all the fighting, so it's sad to see that aspect of the game get butchered in the later acts.

Difficulty was, eh, pretty easy up until the later stages of act 5. Then the bosses got annoyingly difficult. I played on a difficulty between Daring and Core. The bosses definitely need some tweaking.

Crusader mode, which I was kinda hyped for as I am a huge Heroes fan, needs some serious balancing. This is also the only part of the game I found gamebreaking bugs.

Conclusion: One of the best top-down RPGS I've ever played, despite its many issues. In Kingmaker I got tired of the game before the definite edition came out. Hopefully won't happen with this one.

Recommend waiting at least a couple of months.

Game got, not one, but TWO demon mommies <3

Great game. No reason to add anything more -- plenty of other reviews have done a great job of that already.
I just wanted to show my appreciation.

Absolutely great game. Never played the mod, but can say I had a terrific time throughout. Well written, albeit with some small holes regarding the time loop every now and then, but this is minor nitpicking.

If you're reading this, you will most likely not regret the purchase of this fine piece of art.

Brave and utterly beautiful. The world-building is beyond anything I've ever played. Some complain of lack of choice. Some complain of bugs and bad optimization. I can't help but sit back and enjoy the ride on Economy Class -- far away from the Hype Train Chaos.

I spent 3 hours ragin' and slappin' my forehead cus of some random idea that one of the challenges in the Third Mission (wedding) would be not to hurt anyone in any way (You can't see challenges the first run). God, did my forehead hurt, and God was I proud of my achievement.

The challenge didn't exist.

No longer worth the asking price of 50 euro (50 euro in my case. Regional pricing you know). Some might say it never was. I know CA is not responsible for the price increase, but this is just beyond stupid. It's 6 years old, it's not supposed to have a flat market value in a constantly changing market.

Early Access Review
Damn, I love this game. Yeah, RNG plays a part, but not as much as you'd think. Two words comes to mind: adapt and sacrifice. It's all about adapting to the "cards" you get and the other players' builds. If you have a predetermined way to go about the game you will most likely lose. You also have to know when and how to sacrifice. Build up your treasure to get a high interest and lose your win streak or reroll and level up to maintain dominance over the others. Exchange a tier one lvl 2 for a tier 3 or four lvl 1 and become somewhat weaker now but stronger later or stick to your high star tier 1's.

Learn these two key words (and of course praise RNG-jesus before every match) and you'll maybe reach top four every match. I win about a third of my matches, so the randomized element isn't as bad as some people claim it to be.
