A travesty of a remaster. They ruined the gameplay of Homeworld 1 by trying to shoehorn it into Homeworld 2's game systems. The remasters are also buggy and unstable.

An incredible adventure through beautiful Norwegian landscapes twisted by a fever dream. Encounter bizarre, twisted and whimsical characters and monsters as you navigate a wonderfully built world that masterfully mixes exploration, novel traversal and combat encounters.

This game truly feels like an epic journey, where overcoming challenges and uncovering routes forward evokes a great sense of achievement. There's some jank to the combat, but the overwhelming strength of the rest of the game overshadows any frustrations there.

A truly memorable and evocative experience not to be missed.

An immaculately constructed and exceedingly intelligently designed puzzle game that offers mind blowing revelations at every turn. The longer you spend in this inviting world, the more you'll get back. One of the most rewarding games ever.

This has got to be the best remaster of a classic game ever. The gameplay tweaks and tastefully updated graphics would have been enough, but they also threw in every expansion, a port of the N64 version, and an epic new expansion that takes Quake 2 to the next level. Not only that, there's even newly dug up art, concepts, levels and more from development that probably has never been seen by the public before.

The ultimate Quake 2 package.

Probably the best technical arena shooter I've played. Incredibly well designed systems, a really fun gameplay loop and stylishly cool cyberpunk world.

Leaves a terrible first impression. Uninspired, difficult to navigate level design and uninteresting cannon fodder enemies. 6 episodes of this? No thanks

David Szymanski's mastery of retro FPS design is on full display in this compact but thrilling game. While many retro shooter throwbacks struggle with meaningful enemy differentiation, behaviour and placement, this game effortlessly shows how it should be done. The few weapons here also feel impactful, fun to use and are surprisingly situational.

There's simply more fun gameplay and nuance in the few levels here than in many full games.

The music is also superb!

Season 7 of MCC has finally restored this game to it's former Xbox glory. Gone are the missing graphics and lazy bugs in the Gearbox PC port that this was built on. Do yourselves all a favour and play this with classic graphics as it was intended. Halo has finally returned to form.

A competent enough retro style shooter with some big design and stylistic flaws.

The amount of gore is impressive and initially satisfying but quickly becomes detrimental as it hinders visibility. The weapons are also not differentiated enough in function (especially those that use the same ammo) and enemy behaviour is uninteresting. The UI while most likely a work in progress, is also probably the worst UI I've seen in a game ever - it's that bad.

On top of that the levels and enemy encounters are samey and bleed into each other making for an unmemorable and repetitive experience.

Maybe hold off to see if the devs address these issues before diving in.

Out of all the new wave of retro shooter revivals this (and DUSK) stand at the very apex above the rest. From the authentic custom engine with polygon jitter to the impeccable gunplay, this game understands and executes on what made classic shooters from the 90s so great.

The level design and combat in this game is fantastic. The varied enemies are dynamic to fight and the weapons are well balanced and a joy to use. It's one of those shooters that just "feels" right to play.

While only one episode out of three is playable at the moment, the game shows great promise for what's to come. There has already been an update just a few days after launch that's added two new weapons and some tweaks based on player feedback.
