This game never gets old. One of the most mechanically perfect games ever. Each playthrough is a nailbiting and utterly engrossing experience. It's the perfect balance of roguelike randomness and success through mastery of the game.

It has to also be noted that the soundtrack is a masterpiece and features some of the best chip tunes I've ever heard. Varied, memorable, exciting, relaxing - utterly incredible just like the game.

Early Access Review
Quite possibly the best space game I've ever played. Avorion has it all - ship building, exploration, mining, trading, combat and fleet management in a huge sandbox where all the elements build upon each other more elegantly than any other game of it's type.

Despite all it's depth and reach, it's incredibly easy to learn and get into. Before you know it you'll be hooked.

Oh, and you'll completely forget that it's early access since there is so much content and so much polish.

It may be a relatively short experience but what an experience it is! Excellent space combat gameplay combined with some incredible art direction and sound design. It's also highly replayable with higher difficulty modes and challenges, which the tight gameplay mechanics support beautifully. You can really tell where the development effort went - to impeccable mission design and gameplay, not padding out the game unnecessarily. Highly recommended!

What is probably a good hack and slash RPG is completely ruined by the complete lack of hit reactions from enemies. When 99% of your game is hitting monsters and you can't even make that simple action fun, you've failed as a game developer. Will not touch with a ten foot pole.

Undoubtedly a fantastic game just like the first, but the atrocious stuttering and performance issues on even the most powerful hardware completely sap all enjoyment from the game.

Vote with your wallets folks and get a refund until they fix it up.

I really wanted to like this game as I've loved everything else Harebrained Schemes has put out. Unfortunately, while looking nice and sounding intruiguing, the gameplay is extremely lacking and repetitive. When the main gameplay loop of combat isn't fun or impactful, the game as a whole fails.

An asolutely amazing game that is both aesthetically stunning and mechanically compelling. A combination of the unforgiving combat of Dark Souls with the open world adventuring of Zelda, set in a visually sumptuous world of futuristic tech and lost ancient civilization. Hyper Light Drifter lives up to the hype and delivers an unforgetable experience both in combat and exploration.
