I'd like to start this review with the fact that I don't usually play story driven games. Most stories don't hold my attention very well. This was a big exception, and I'm happy to say I played the entire game to the end. I'm writing this review right after finishing the game. I don't write reviews often, but I do for a reason.

It Takes Two is a game that can be very odd with it's tone, especially early on. However the entire experience is fun and exciting. The story's premise isn't very complicated, but I think it does a wonderful job of fleshing itself out as you go. The creativity showcased on both the environments and the gameplay is remarkable.

It Takes Two, literally. Almost everything in the game requires the cooperation between the two players. In a lot of the game, each player has a unique tool or ability that they need to use together to progress. No two of them feel the same and they all play off of one another super well. The team dynamic along with the super smooth movement and platforming make for a very fun experience. The game isn't super difficult, but that doesn't mean you won't mess up a few times. Thankfully the game isn't very punishing and lets you keep trying until you figure out what to do.

The world that you explore across the journey is fantastical in every sense of the word. It takes the concept of playing as a pair of toys and runs wild with it. There are so many fun little interactables and mini games that you can play as you go through. A lot of them trigger extra dialogue and information about the story. If you play, don't be afraid to explore. It's worth it.

The maps are much larger then you would think at first, but that isn't a real issue. Most of the game is fairly linear, leading from one puzzle to the next. Later on, there are a few areas that let you tackle puzzles in whatever order you like, and these areas are full of even more personality and little interactables then anywhere else.

I don't want to say any more, because I would need to go into more detail then I want to. Not because I can't, but because I want you to experience it for yourself. I went into this game completely blind with a friend and it was worth it. If you want to play this game, please try to avoid spoiling yourself before you do. There isn't anything super dramatic, but the magic and wonder of everything wouldn't have felt as good if I knew what was coming beforehand.

If you want to play this game, find a friend or loved one and play it together with them. You don't need to buy the game twice to play, only one person needs to own it. (My friend didn't know it at the time when they bought the game for both of us.)

In short, if you want a fun, not too difficult co-op experience with someone, I don't know many games that will give you a better experience.

This game is wonderful on so many levels. While the UI is something you need to get used to it is well worth it. A wonderful experience form beginning to end. Just don't play it if you are scared of sea creatures or the ocean.

Just Shapes & Beats is a wonderful spin on the bullet hell genre by combining it seamlessly with the rythm game genre. A lot of time and care has obviously been put into making each and every track a new and interesting challenge. While the story mode is only a few hours long the quality of the experience is almost bar none.

The music selection is top notch. I don't usually listen to chip-tune, electronic, or dub step esque music, but after playing this game I haven't been able to get the music out of my head for over a week now. I am also not a big fan of bullet hell games, but the simplicity of just avoiding the obsticles to catchy music caught me hook line and sinker.

The multiplayer is just the icing on the cake. Playing with up to 4 people online or locally is a blast and being able to play any of the tracks, including the boss fights means there's plenty to do. You can even join in on a public game just top have others playing with you. There isn't any voice or text chat so you won't have any interuptions form the other players... unless they're just dying a lot.

There's even additional tracks that can be unlocked in the Challenge or Playlist modes. The better you do in the tracks the faster you can unlock new songs. There's even specific challenges to go for after you beat the story across all of the different modes of play.

As a whole Just Shapes & Beats is a fantastic game. It's been in my mind since I first saw it at PAX East. I waited in line for so long to play the demo there and bought the game almost as soon as it came out. I can see myself coming back to Just Shapes & Beats over and over to play with friends or do challenges just to hear the music and chill.

Having played the Megaman Aniversary Collection back on my Playstation 2, I can say this collection is... sub par by comparison. However this collection does a good job of recreating the games from the NES with some nice features, such as the challanges and official art galleries... but here are the things that I didn't like about it.

Upon installing the game I was blasted in my headset with the loud menu music, and upn entering the game, I found no audio options at all. You need to use windows to turn down the game... Why did they not include this? Who knows.

You have the ability to save a game at any point and load a save at any time, similar to the save states in emulators or the game save on the 3DS versions of the megaman games. There is also an auto fire button that simulates those old turbo controllers. I find that while it makes the games easier, and you don't need to use them. I found myself using them anyways. I find that they make the game very easy, especially the auto fire button.

While I realize these are fairly minor annoyances and complaints, I know some people will want to know about these before buying this. The games themselves are just as you remember them, and with some extra options, you can replicate that old TV you have in your parent's basement on your computer with a filter! I don't know why these old remakes feel the need to add that in to be honest... but reguardless. The jump n' and shoot n' are still there.

To sum it all up... It's Megaman... again. If you really want the first 6 Classic Megaman games on Steam then go ahead and buy this. It's definitaly compitent but other then the challenges and artwork, it doesnt do anything special.

This game gave me more then my money's worth. The action packed campaign has a story that kept me interested the entire way though though the overall gameplay can get repetitive. I found myself using the same guns over and over. The fact you can switch between robot and vehicle seemlessly in battle adds a lot of choises for how to handle an encounter, especially when you are in the flying levels. The multiplayer is where this game shines for me. While now adays you will only find maybe one or two games going at any given time it is still a fats paced and fun experience. The majority of my hours with this game are in the multiplayer. The skill ceiling in the game is very high though some aspects and mechanics and classes can be overpowered. The game on consoles was patched with nerfs to the multiplayer that didn't happen on PC. Overall I recommend picking this up if you want a good third person shooter to co-op with friends.

If and FPS and an RPG had a baby, this is it. A perfect blend of FPS action with RPG stats and abilities. I dont think ive ever gotten the same gun twice in this game because there are so many. In depth story and action keeps you there till 3AM on a school night.

Definitally worth $20. I love the community (even if some of them are a holes). With tons of unlocks you could fight 3 of the same class but have to handle each differently. Collectables and mini games add even more fun. Fast-paced battles get my heart pumping every time.
