Early Access Review
Really solid experience all around. I like the gunplay, though I wish some of the weapons had a bit more crisp to them regarding the sound design. I think the shotguns are a little underwhelming in terms of efficiency as well, but most other weapon feel quite viable. I love how no matter what build you choose, you pretty much always know that you can complete the run if you lock in and everything you choose feels more or less valid. Most of the perks have pleasant and noticeable effects, I'm particularly fond of the support bots being actually viable and good even, as that's a big rarity for this archetype of ability.
The shift in difficulty between zone 1 and 2 is really good in my opinion, it was pretty unexpected to see the enemies start to dodgeroll, and the higher difficulties actually feel like the enemy is more responsive and aggressive, rather than simply inflated in stats. I think it would be really nice if the difficulty continued to amp up as the zones progressed, maybe give the enemies a dash as well? That'd be awesome. Also, I really like how you are given infinite stealth mode to scout out the room and pick the best position to start the fight in, it's a really nice mechanic.
The game does have its flaws. I think my main one is the environment is not very interactive. The areas seem largely hand crafted, which is interesting, but there aren't many ways to interact with the environment other than just using the provided cover(some rooms don't have it at all, which is really problematic in my opinion). If you were to have some kind of additional interactivity specific to the area you were in that would be pretty good, even just having lockers to open and get some additional resources would be neat.
The movement feels pretty bad without the maximum upgrades or specific perks. I appreciate that the dodge is almost always available due to the 1s cooldown, but the base movement speed is just terrible even with the sprint speed upgrades. I would have preferred a higher base movement speed with a longer dodge cooldown. Coop seems a bit janky even on seemingly same region servers, but I am not quite sure if its an issue of the game or with my connection. Thankfully, even with lag spikes the hitreg works from your POV, so you can still be useful while you're tweaking out. I'm not sure how to feel on the fact that your ammo is infinite. On one hand its nice to not have to worry about it, but on the other it feels like it inherently offsets the weapon balance you would traditionally expect(e.g.:sniper rifles having less reserve due to the inherent power of their rounds, or smgs having alot of reserve ammo due to their low damage and high fire rate.) But I don't think I mind it that much, and it does make it one less thing to micromanage.
Additionally, I really think the shop should let you buy skills or special items, as you never really struggle with money once you fully upgrade the scrap drop skill, and usually have way more than you need by even the middle of the run.
All in all, the game seems very promising and I've been having fun with it. I'd love to see where it goes in the end, and I hope the devs listen to the feedback the players give.

Phenomenal game. Definitely one of the best shooters I've ever played alongside Trepang2. My literal only complaint is that the sniper rifles are pretty underwhelming because the bullet velocity makes them effectively only really good if you're around the midrange or are moving slowly on foot. The former doesn't really fit the point of the weapon and the latter doesn't feel good at all in a game with such high velocity movement. That's about it.
