Despite the plot, characters and dark atmosphere, this game is beautiful. Mitzi is a ray of sunshine, and I ship them. Susan and Mitzi, that is. While Susan is living and can't stop thinking about death, Mitzi, on the other hand, is dying and dreams about life. They complete each other.
I am not a fan of horror, since I'm not brave enough. But I wanted to play this beaut so badly, and now I'm proud of myself that I didn't give up on this masterpiece. This game is really inspiring. It doesn't tell you the beautiful lies about oh-so-sweet-life. The story tells you the sad truth about life. How life can break people. How it can twist their minds. It's easy to go insane, lose all your hope and push people away because you're scared of trusting them. I have trust issues and I bet that I'm not the only one who can relate. I was so suspicious of Mitzi before. I'm glad she wasn't one of the maggots. People take chances every time they decide to trust somebody. If Susan wasn't ready to take that risk, she wouldn't have learned anything from this. The ending is as real as it might get, so I'm not sad about it at all. After all, it's not just a tale. Susan is smart, she won't lose herself again. Not after she was lucky to meet such a great friend as Mitzi. Now, I'm not saying that she'll live in happiness till the end of her days. It's only the beginning. She has become stronger and she stopped running away from her past. She accepted the fact that the future is in her hands.
I really like the music, by the way.
