I had high hopes for this game when it was first announced, but unfortunately, I walk away disappointed. It barely surpasses the first game, and only thanks to a few added extras—but those aren't nearly enough to make up for everything that was lost along the way.

When I read that the game would include AI-generated elements, I assumed it would mean more H-scenes or visual variety. Instead, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the focus shifted toward a deeper story. While it can be interesting at times, it throws off the balance that made the first game work so well. To me, it strays too far from what this type of game should prioritize.

The only part that somewhat captured the spirit of the original was the CMC arc and Lily’s relationship with the protagonist—which, spoiler alert, felt like it was leading to a much better ending than the one we got. The onsen scene felt incredibly forced, and the ending itself was anticlimactic. The art style also changed significantly, and personally, I much prefer the look and feel of the first game. Several gameplay mechanics were dropped, and the overall content feels reduced, replaced with “variants” that don’t offer much variety at all.

What disappointed me the most was the bizarre addition of an option to skip H-scenes. I think it would have made more sense to release both an SFW and an NSFW version rather than include a feature that doesn’t even impact the story in any meaningful way. Whether you choose to watch the scenes or not, the plot remains virtually unchanged, aside from a few dialogue differences.

This game marks a clear drop in quality—not just compared to the first title, but to the developer’s previous work overall.

To wrap it up (and echoing what another reviewer said): if the story grabs you, great—this might even be your GOTY. But if you were expecting more action or a more classic experience, I’d recommend replaying the first game or just sticking to Act 1 of this one. (Which you're kind of forced to do anyway, since the CMC route I enjoyed isn't even available until after Act 1 and before Act 2.)

It left a bad taste in my mouth, and if this trend continues, what was once a “safe purchase” is quickly becoming a “try first, then decide” situation.

Final thought: You have to know where your priorities should lie.
