EA unfortunately has a monopoly, and eFootball seems to be a total disappointment so there isn't much choice.

I can't give a positive review to the scumbags that are EA.

Before you fanboy children cry, I buy it and play it because I like football.
Even you fanboy children are losing out actually - spending so much of your time grinding out enough coins to buy your favourite player, then suddenly find out your player isn't even the best version as a new promo comes out every 2 weeks to keep you wanting more lol. They want you to buy FIFA points so badly that they deliberately make the gameplay ♥♥♥♥ so that you think you need to upgrade your squad.

Same old 45th and 90th min scripts.

Not sure why we can't have next-gen on PC, why not just have OPTIONS like every other game to tweak graphics? Because EA are lazy thats why.

The only thing noticeably new in this game is the turf, and it still looks ♥♥♥♥. They've randomly removed turf damage that usually shows after slide tackles for some weird reason, but thats EA for you. Break ♥♥♥♥.

EA's focus is not to make this a better game, its a focus on how they can get players playing for longer and spending more money.
That is it.

♥♥♥♥ off EA.

edit: some positives i found in this years edition since my review...
- Some of the animations/moves when dribbling past opponents is great.

- They've added stats that you can see in any game mode where it shows how many passes you did, what kind they were, what kind of shots you took, deeper possession stats and where abouts on the pitch you play the most. The stats are the most tactical thing this game has had implemented in years.

- Goalkeepers are much better, you won't be guaranteed a goal when you're one on one anymore. Goalkeeper animations look great too.

I really wanna give this game a positive review because I do like it, but I can't positively review it when these scumbags at EA make terrible decisions.

It is better than any of the previous FIFA of the last few years. Seems a lot more enjoyable even with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scripts still in game. Really enjoying FUT and the way seasons work on there. Haven't tried any other game mode at all apart from FUT. I will update when I try others.

Edit: Goalkeepers are no longer good, you can score from anywhere.

The game is one of the most enjoyable FIFA's of recent times but the lack of next-gen features and the excuses they gave to PC players forces me to leave this negative review.

Graphics are nice, story is cool, but its the same old typical missions. Go to X place and kill X, now go elsewhere and kill another X, then do it again to unlock boss X, kill boss X, repeat. Same as all Ubisoft titles. If you haven't played any previous FarCry games, or Division, or Wildlands, or any other Ubisoft title before, then yeah definitely try it out. The game is better when playing it coop than solo.

Try it out, just not at that daylight robbery price of £49.99. When it's on sale for under £20 then get it.

The realism you can get from modding the game is unrivalled. The game is great in vanilla but its unbeatable with mods. I buy both FIFA & PES and both have positives and negatives. If you want a football simulation, buy PES. If you want a more arcade experience, buy FIFA. The only things I'm not keen on in PES is the running animation of non-A-star players lol, its like a robotic loop and looks stupid, and the quality of connections in multiplayer.

Here is a little video I did so you can see mods in action, its not a goal compilation or anything its just to show the mods:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rdsh7xBGyQ

The mods used are mods for:
Team names/kits/badges/leagues/cups
Camera view
Turf
Crowd
Stadiums
Sky Sports/BBC/NBCSN overlays & scoreboards
Animated ad boards surrounding the pitch (they are different for every teams ground, and accurate to real life)
Branded boots and balls
Fan banners
Net sounds
Crowd chants

And alongside the mods I used a reshader that I created to do the colourgrading. If the video looks jittery or has any blur or artifacts its because of YouTube's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ encoding.
All of the mods in the video are from matches in plain winter weather, I should have put a variation in but whatever lol.

There are many more mods but this is just a sample of what you can do on this game.

DIRT isn't the same as it once was. Doesn't give me the same enjoyment as it used to. I think if you want to play racing game go for Forza, or even Need For Speed.

Terrible, clunky, boring. Baffled by the reviews. Feels like a game you would make for a school project when you're about 13.

Early Access Review
This is just great - I wasn't expecting much but its really good. Can be hilarious at some tables. You don't have to spend any real money whatsoever. Only downside is the amount of under 18s at tables.

After a lot of complete disinformation by Playstation players for some weird reason, like a lot of other people I was really concerned with whether this was going to be either a bad port, run terribly, be disappointing, or all three. I am relieved and happy to say that its none of them. Quite the opposite. I had high expectations and its surpassed them easily.

I am 40+ hours in and mostly played the main campaign with a few side missions and exploration and still haven't completed it. For comparison, I completed GTA 5 in around 28 hours. Just when I thought I was getting near to the end, a whole other map opened up. It starts off quite slow, you may even consider getting a refund before the 2 hour mark, but I promise if you stick with it you will get in to it and seriously enjoy its brilliant story and characters.

It runs buttery smooth, is well optimised, graphics are great, and the voice acting excellent and the story is brilliant. I absolutely love the physics and handling on the bike, especially in the mud during rainy weather, the handling reminds me of Mudrunner a bit. I love the tiny details like your bike having to be repaired at the side of the road, your fuel running out, etc. You have to find gas cans to fill your bike up with fuel, otherwise you're walking. The problem is, you can't pick up gas cans and store them anywhere for later, when you find them its either use them there and then or leave it. I also like that if you 'coast' downhill on your bike without accelerating, your bike doesn't use fuel. Just cool little details like that make a big difference to me.

You can upgrade skills with skillpoints which you unlock as you progress. These are skills you may expect like having more powerful melee strikes or more ammo capacity. You can modify your weapons and craft weapons by combining things such as a 2x4 plank of wood with nails, or a baseball bat and nails etc. You can modify your bike and add a better engine, lights, mudguard, paint job, decals, wheels, tyres, suspension, and more.

The game seems like it has some inspiration from The Last Of Us, and Red Dead Redemption. Not a bad thing of course, but I did get the feeling that they were definitely inspired by them.

The only negatives I can give is that the nights are pretty much same as daylight. Its too bright, you can only really tell its night time by looking up at the sky, which makes the torches pretty useless. If you are using HDR, lower in game brightness from 5 to 2, then adjust HDR to make daytime as light as you would expect. You'll see a massive difference.

My other negative is a small detail but infuriating to me. Your flashlight seemingly has no source. You can rotate the camera 360 with your flashlight on, and it will be shining on the walls but when you look at your character as you rotate around him, he has no flashlight in his hands or on his clothing.

Overall, Days Gone is easily in my top 5 favourite games of all time. Really enjoying it. Highly recommend.
