Just that there really is a huge difference in this game between chapter 1, and the rest of the game.
To me ch1 feels rushed. IThey failed worse then you say, as they could have taken the chance to render the scenes the anime skipped.
In the game we did get, ch1 is really only the introduction. Both in terms of gameplay and story.
The combat, while slow at first, becomes faster once you become used to it. Skill connect, dodge/jump attack removes ending lag. Switch characters givesaccess to more SP for skills. Without these, the combat does feel painfully slow. With it? It feels a lot of fun and quite smooth to play. The quick time events are almost universally hated. I can't believe they are part of the game either. Con for sure.
tl;dr: in many ways there is a very large gap between initial impression and full experience.
