There are two possibilities, either sony wanted more sign up rates for PSN to boast to their investors, and saw the games reputation as a small cost to do so.
Or as some of the """community managers""" said on twitter. they did this so they could punish users more broadly (from other playstation games I guess?) or punish users they don't like. more than they could without a psn account.

Might even be a bit of both. and in either case needs to be called out and shamed.
I've seen people make the comparison that people put up with microsoft accounts and battlenet accounts for other games. but the difference there is those games, like MCC required those things at the beginning. and battlenet games originally started out as a login for wow and super old games built on their own platform. like how steam has a login. This is just forcing you to give sony your data and to pad their PSN numbers (a company who doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about "security" or "privacy" of user's data, despite what they claim.)

Helldivers worked completely fine without a PSN account at launch. and making it a requirement does NOT benefit the PC playerbase in any way, it only benefits PSN sign up statistics and by extension sony's investor calls, and thus sony's income.

And and while we're at it, WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ DOES THIS GAME HAVE A KERNEL LEVEL ANTICHEAT.
It does seemingly nothing because repeatedly I see cases of people cheating in unreleased stratagems, firing their guns with infinite ammo and unlike me have an extra 30fps because they managed to disable the anticheat. For the record we found out about the mech before it came out because cheaters were spawning it in and letting people use it like 3 weeks early.

Game's great but middle management and corpo oversight ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it, maybe an indie dev will use this and make something worthwhile that'll suffer the same fate after they sell it off 2 years after it's successful.

If you sit there and think "it's just a psn account, it's not that big of a deal" that exact line of thinking is how we got to the point of ubisoft removing peoples games from their libraries. Do not allow them to take more from you.

The real robbers here are the devs themselves, heisted us out of our money and left us with a game we LITERALLY can't play because they removed the ability to host our own matches.

Can't refund because the game actually worked during the beta. :)

Fantastic Game.
Bethesda knocked it out of the perk, easily their best game to date.
Worth the price? I'm getting close to getting my hours worth, if it were 2018 prices sure.
The game does run badly at times but it's stable. especially in towns, whenever you're in combat it tends to not be an issue. Though it's clear the game has a pretty bad CPU bottleneck issue.

People will complain how the maps feel small but i'll put this out there, go play no mans sky, that game DOES let you walk all the way around the planet. and that game doesn't have any fast travel so you have to walk everywhere, then fly from the planet back into space. Starfield lets you fast travel from and to almost anywhere instantly, I'd much rather sit through a 10 second loading screen over 15+ minutes of flying to and from that games hub everytime, only to have to sit through a loading screen anyways.

The game also very much isn't about exploring planets, but you can do it easily within the bounds you're given to the point you wont even notice the bounds unless you go look for them.

Also for some reason people are refunding the game because they're given the option to change how people talk to you. kinda weird if you ask me.

TL;DR, it's fallout 4 with better writing, better setting, better gameplay and combines it with all the cool parts of nomanssky without the most boring tedious parts of NMS, oh and has way more replayablity than both.

It takes a full year or more to fully unlock one of the seven factions tech tree, that means minimum it'll take you 6 months or more just to reach the top tier vehicles, which you won't even be able to play unless you can get over a 2.0 KD.

at the 6.7 br rating the repair costs become so much that you actively need to get a couple kills to break even on silver lion gains such that you don't lose silver lions each game, silver lions that you need to A: pay for the repair cost of vehicles. B: pay to refil your ammunition and then C: to actually buy the next vehicle once you spent weeks unlocking the next vehicle in the tree and then even more to train the crew so the vehicle performs better.

That's even with premium time. which doubles your SL and research gains, not to mention the devs are continuously releasing top teir vehicles for real money so people can skip the grind for over the price of a AAA game. for each vehicle.

Despite all that the devs have the shear audacity to call the playerbase greedy, and say the players just want everything unlocked for free. No, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots. We want an economy that doesn't take 2 years to unlock a single faction and for high tiers to actually be playable.

This game has amazing potential to be a speedrunning game. please let us replay levels and give us tags to search for levels with. It's really good though maybe the grapple hook is massively overpowered. but honestly it should kind've stay that way.

A remake that's actually better than the original. And I don't mean that just graphically speaking.
Everything has been improved, the look feel and atmosphere has been drastically changed and much better reflects Issac's decent into madness much better than the original ever did. I genuinely believe this is the best way to experience the original dead space.

Motive clearly cared about the source material and knew where it could go from there. the original dead space is great but suffers just from limitations of the time it was made, this remake has amending basically all of those issues and improved upon areas that were clear pain points. kinda makes me wonder what the original devs think of it.

A dead space 2 remake is absolutely in the cards and I am absolutely looking forward to it.
I'm not entirely sure on what motive can do entirely beyond the source material but I'd be very interested in them doing more ng+ content that expands more on dead spaces lore. (it's not like we have the original dev team anymore anyways. thanks ea)

Edit: oh actually I just remembered, please give us old Isaac face, I get he's supposed to now look more like his voice actor but he looks way too generic, I would've been completely fine if they gave him black hair and some stubble. but if a dead space 2 is made, he needs to look more like the original Isaac since his face was actually shown in that game.

Early Access Review
You wonna know who isn't going to be affected by the addition of EAC??
people who were already malicious bad actors in the first place. crazy I know right?

The devs are such absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that they can't be bothered to fix their backend that's been the same since launch they'd rather just kill off most their playerbase and NSFW content creators. it's tumblr all over again.

On the bright side maybe now other social vr platforms will finally get the playerbase boost they deserve instead of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Update
The devs have doubled down. saying they aren't going to revert and they're going to """""fast track"""" updates mods provided that should've been in the game years ago. This wasn't just tone deaf. this update was outright premeditated, I'd go as far to say the devs don't even care about bad actors they just want to get rid of harmless mods and the community around them. Hilarious.

343 finally went and played a halo game and realised why people like halo, after 8+ years of having no clue what they were doing.

Chief acts like chief again, the music is back to being awe inspiring (marty will be ahead of everyone else for decades), the art design for armours actually look good again.
Cortonas face looks weird but that's just facial capture for you.

Personally I feel like the open world aspect, while enjoyable. could've been made smaller or split up into two different acts kind've like the section after you get shot down. with more linear missions between open world sections.

343 are so danm close to picking up where bungie left off. also next time there better be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ warthog run 343 I swear to GOD.

Game had promise but just like evolve, turtle rocks last game that they over hyped. has ended up with it's first update being unreal levels of tone deaf with the little cherry on top """"""""We've listened to the communities feedback""""""""

Even on the second difficulty you are essentially required to hunker down in a room with only 1 entrance, with melee infront and everyone else behind. because if you're out in the open specials and ridden will endlessly spawn behind you at rates that make me feel like no one actually tested it. but of course turtle rock probably saw that melee cards were getting used by everyone and instead of seeing WHY people were using it. instead just nerfed all melee cards and temp health cards. they listened to the community btw incase you missed it.

The devs seemingly think it's okay for multiple of every special to spawn at once every 10 seconds because the closest they've gotten is "fixed issues with special spawning" GOD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ KNOWS what that means or if they actually changed anything.

Like l4d2 was difficult, but imagine if in l4d2 3 tanks, 2 chargers, 2 hunters and 3 smokers spawned in any horde and as soon as you killed 1 another would just replace it directly behind you. that is how bad the spawn rates are for specials.

It's to the point I have no idea what the intended strategy is supposed to be or if you're just supposed to get lucky.
To be clear me and my friends as a full party almost beat veteran difficulty but we got absolutely stumped on the second to last mission where you're throwing the canisters around at endlessly spawning ogres and specials. it was just too much and nowhere to hunker down until the wave thinned out. and to top it off? you get sent right back to the start of the act when you die.

Oh and this isn't even mentioning the fact the entire time you're trying to play through this game you have some of the worst character writing devised by mankind constantly being recited in your ear.

How this company is the same company responsible for l4d2 is beyond me.
Wait 4 sale on it or just get it off a reseller, good game but I'm smelling an evolve situation, they're just gonna make bad decision after bad decision then when the game dies they'll make it free only to shut the servers down a week later.

So far the game is great, story and writing is keeping me invested, combat feels refined, hacking and interacting with the hacking / dialogue menus feels fluid, vehicles feel ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic.

Performance is well, not awful but it makes no sense, lowest and ultra after a while seem to give you the same FPS just with different input delay, it's weird and quite frankly I hope they solve it because the game nearly constantly running at 55 fps and just refusing to go past 60 fps regardless of graphics setting is well, makes it difficult especially in combat.

With that said it took me over 8 hours to get past the prologue and there's still an entire city to play with and things to do. so this game is probably gonna be an easy 60+ hours i feel. So definitely worth the menu purely based on £ to hour ratios.

I'd say get it, the game is really danm replayable more so than skyrim which I've sunk over 500 hours in so you'll get your moneys worth even after they resolve the performance issues.
