This mod will lure you in with beautiful maps. And those are great, but let's be real: the above screenshots only show you the best of them. You will also find a lot, a LOT of creepy tunnels that are used ad nauseam.

Story-wise, this mod is a joke. Gordon goes on a secret mission to a deserted island (?) with no weapons (??) except the island actually has a teleport to a secret hi-tech base in space (???) that will teleport you to some other place with no logical connection (????) and then Gordon decides to throw away all his weapons in a fit of incredible stupidity (?????) just to get past a couple of guards while he had killed dozens already, and then he blows up a huge building with 20 snipers in it with a single rocket (??????) and then infiltrates a top-secret Combine facility hidden in the middle of a city (???????) and launches a dozen nukes to no one knows where (????????????)

Gameplay-wise, it has some good ideas but they're generally executed badly. The open island (the first map) is one of the better ones. In some maps, finding the exit or just whatever you're supposed to be looking for is a pain, since you have no given objective at all. It's usually frustrating, in the lines of "how was I supposed to know I needed to blow up that building full of snipers, which for some reason takes one single rocket since the building was apparently made entirely out of dynamite".

If you're into mapping, you may want to check it out though. If you're not, it's hard to recommend.

This game is a tribute to mappers everywhere. People who dedicate themselves to making ambitious sets, believable, varied and beautiful.

I had to admit I felt a sense of liberty I've craved for in video games; walking all alone in public buildings, free to touch anything, go anywhere, think of the people who work here and the purpose of this building.

I want to believe this game is a tribute to the modern society we live in, with its flaws and its qualities, its giant maze-like infrastructure that is vital for everything we take for granted in our urban lives.

It's one of the most immersive and thought-provoking experiences I've played recently, and I want to see more like this.

This is a visual novel. If you don't like reading novels or things like that, don't even try.

However this visual novel has a fantastic atmosphere, and is a great retelling of a classic thriller novel. In particular, I give great praise to the sound atmosphere, the writing/adaptation and the historical immersion.

Heartily recommended for literature enthusiasts!

Once upon a time, there was an publisher who had such an unexplainable hate boner for modders that they declared modding their game literally illegal, and killed it.

Don't support these people. If you want to buy the game, at least don't buy any stupid Shark Cards. They are the main reason why Take-Two did this. I hope they sorely regret it.

I had never played any typing game before, so it was kind of a surprise that I liked this game so much. Great soundtrack, atmosphere and gameplay. And it's just the right length too.

Still one of the best written shooters out there. Only problem is it's not as great a shooter.

But it's still a very memorable game, a real pearl.

I'm a fan of the Sherlock Holmes games, but this one let me down on more than one occasion.

- You can see the plot twists coming from a mile away.
- Paradoxally, some of the puzzles are so remote and hard to figure out you can't possibly do it without the included guide.
- The voice acting is awful through and through. More than usual. Very disappointing in a game that relies so much on dialogues.
- The soundtrack is very limited, and apparently almost entirely made out of classical music. That's okay, but it's still limited.
- The mise en scene/cutscene direction is laughably bad in more than one occasion. Also more so than usual in this series.

Only redeeming value is the recreation of a few iconic London landmarks in lovely detail.

It's not as bad as everyone says it is. But that'll depend on what you look for the most in games.

For fans of the Alien franchise, this is good. It has a pretty good art direction, great soundtrack, good actors, good visuals, it is decently written and pretty well directed.

As a game however, its gameplay is generic, boring, lacking, buggy (even nowadays).

I'd recommend this game only to fans of the Alien franchise or science-fiction lovers. Since I am both, I really liked it. But I'm not sure I enjoyed myself, if you see what I mean. It was very interesting, but not very fun.

I originally intended to recommend this game. But I really can't, even if I liked it. It's a fact, most people won't have fun. But to the few who care less about gameplay, go ahead. It's not the worst game ever, far from it.

It's got a lot better.

People left a few years ago when the game hit rock-bottom with lootboxes and was a terribly buggy and unbalanced mess. But Overkill actually listened to the community and reworked everything, according to the community's criticism and advise. And thus Payday 2 became better than it ever was.

You don't often see that kind of behavior among gamedevs nowadays, but I have to say: bravo, Overkill.

A magnificent game, by all accounts. Superb and vast scenery, numerous and varied quests, gorgeous music and graphics for a successful immersion, this is truly a piece of art. And don't forget the mods if you want more, or simply to make the game even better or more to your taste.
