Now that I've got the attention of literally all the target groups I wanted, let's proceed to the unrelated review.

Call of Duty®️ has been dwindling in all regards. We've seen the signs on the walls for quite a while now, but apparently once you include AI in the process—that gets people reading.

Let's talk about the newest, the latest, which will be probably dead and forgotten next fiscal year !


Where do I begin that won't upset the people who remember the Cold War, and the people who only now figured out that the suspicious stains were always part of bad business practice...

Black Ops 7—as a successor to Black Ops 2 by chronology—is a parody at best and an insult by most when it comes to the Campaign. The storyline, which was established by such icons as Raul Menendez, has decided to jump off the metaphorical cliff, screaming "HOLD MY COD POINTS !".

BUT HERE IS WHERE I'LL BE CONTROVERSIAL WITH YOU !

Black Ops 7—while a crime on paper—is still a mid-tier decent shooter game, although suffering from a poor campaign that isn't even Singleplayer-ready as YOU MUST PLAY ON A SERVER to access the Campaign itself.
But if you look away from that ?
The gunplay feels snappy, the sounds feel punchy, the weapon designs FEEL 2035 without turning into insanity (unless you bought a Skin for them).

Zombies ?
Well, they didn't get a glam treatment, but nobody will honestly ever beat Black Ops 3™️®️©️ in that category, especially with all the mods that are available, and the storyline, and the Day 1s. But it is better than not being included at all.

Multiplayer ?
This one is a bit harder to judge, given that I can't experience the fun side of the world as VPNs no longer move you to a country where people talk and enjoy the game. Oh woe.
Movement was king before, movement is the tyrant king again. If you do not have movement, you WILL end up in the dirt. And you will also realize that it is 2026 and those back aches are still there.

Campaign ?
Skip it if you can. Think of this as more of a Black Ops 4 deal where the only reason for the buy-in was the BR and the Multiplayer. You are literally not missing out anything by not fighting SKIBIDI HARPER

Endgame ?
A decent time sink. If you just want MWZ but with DMZ soldiers ? Yeah, that is a fair deal. But honestly DMZ should have gotten some love and returned. PvE is more of a Zombies thing—I bet many can agree—but the tension of Endgame should have been PvPvE.

For all the good that Black Ops 7 has presented—be it very little—it is still the prime example of outsourcing creativity instead of using tools creatively. It is a "Mid" FPS experience at best—and honestly "Mid" says a lot—but Call of Duty was a series that we should HOLD BY THE THROAT TO A BETTER STANDARD THAN MERELY MID OR TOLERABLE.

Get the Humans back on board, teach them how to work WITH AI instead of being REPLACED by it, do some QA for the love of god, and NEVER EVER DARE TO SPEAK THE NAME OF RAUL MENENDEZ IN YOUR OFFICE.

(Also doesn't help that you got outsold by Battlefield, which then fell just as hard. Yikes. The industry is truly tumbling down the stairs, but you pioneered putting a banana peel at the top.)
