Dope alternative for VRChat for Tinkerers. Totally down to tinker but a bit of a learning curve

Absolutely Fun. No Doubt. Respect the devs, Modding Community has rich creations on the side... Overall a good indie.

I recieved this as a Christmas gift from a friend, who paid full price, so I am not going to treat it as if I got it free.

I can say from what I read of reviews, I had doubts, but as the introduction game I had to the warhammer 40k universe, I was not disappointed like others seem to say.

The biggest reason I started playing is because I had friends to play with, like most other games.

What I can say that contradicts EVERYTHING REGARDING ISSUES is that my hardware is nowhere near modern.

I use a Gaming Laptop with an i5 9th gen with 4 core 4 thread. I have 16 gb ddr4 3400mhz so-dimm memory. I have a built in 1660 ti that has laptop specs, so it isnt a desktop grade.

I have no issue with 1080p. I have a 1440p monitor but I have no need to use it to its fullest potential. What I can say is that I still get anywhere between 50-70 fps on the default graphics settings, which are BEAUTIFUL compared to some games similar I play. I don't genuinely need ray tracing to enjoy the environments, I dont need a huge story campaign to introduce me to the lore, at this time I am just here to experience the 40k universe and purge some heresy.

I will say that as an introduction to 40k, the gameplay is absoulutely beautiful and I see a bright future in the game because it is so early. I may be too optimistic, but coming from my perspective, what would you think?

That is my rendition, but for some more detailed topics here is some of my knowledge:
I dont have a huge setup to work with, so I never go for max graphics, but by no means does medium graphics with smooth lighting take away from the experience. I can also say in a biological standpoint, 20-20 vision has been proven to only be able to see in 4k res. Do you really need to be so close to your monitor that you can see pixels smaller that the pin of a needle? Not many people have 20-20 vision...

If I am going to come from other people's perspective, yes I do see the problems regarding the game being very unfinished as a whole, but remember that half of modern titles are put out miles before they are completed because they have the excuse of "If something is bad, we can just patch it out when we feel the need to" unlike before the internet had huge updates, in which if you found a major bug, if the developers cared enough, they would send a full storage installation drive to patch it out to all of their players that requested it. If you wanted a finished game, you should go back to the consoles that didnt have an internet connection for updates. Latest device anyone cannot complain about these things is the GAMECUBE. The point to online active servers is so they can maintain a profit anyway, and didnt you buy the game?

Why are you gonna complain when you put the money in to experience a game that was going to be live-service anyway?

If you wanted a bug free experience, you should have opted for a final touch type singleplayer or local coop game. You would be better off buying Omori for your lack of patience when it comes to an ONLINE SERVICE.A

If you cant wait for it to get better to stop complaining, just wait. You paid the money and you played more than 2 hours. Call it that and see where the community gets the devs to go.

That is the end of my rant.

TLDR: Can recommend for a raw gameplay standpoint, cannot recommend for an avid 40k lore enjoyer.

Aside from the slow updates, its entirely 1 cost to enter, pay to support the devs. ZERO PAY TO WIN! I SAY AGAIN NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!

By far one of the B E S T mainstream games. If you want to play with your friends, it is all the more fun. Its modding community is also vast, which makes it more enjoyable after you beat the base game a couple times!

The original review I had was in 2016, when the game was not owned by its current aquisition.

It is significantly more pay-to-win. I will not deny that. Its community on every day EXCEPT saturday and sunday (xp and loot day) is fairly nice and welcoming. Don't bother partying up with anyone on public as a new or returning player unless its a close friend on the weekend.

Its fun if you don't mind the long grind.
