Digital MTG costs ~10x less than paper MTG (~$400/mo to be a competitive standard player vs $2,000-$4,000 for paper) although your digital purchases have no trade or resale value. I also prefer how easy it is to make digital decks and find digital opponents over paper, so I doubt I'd ever go back to paper MTG.
