Destiny 2 feels amazing to play.

Don't play it.

Bungie is desperately trying to wring every last dollar from its playerbase and have been known for a very anti-player stance of "play how we want you to play."

The Disney Vault style dlc approach they have implemented is incredibly anti-consumer but many people in the community just eat up any excuse they make. DLC you paid for *will* be rotated out, and you might get some unlock tokens for your trouble.

But the guns are so fun to shoot.

tl:dr: Destiny 2 is a fun game from a developer desperately trying to wring any excess fun out to sell back to you piecemeal for more money under the guise of "we listened, we're adding it back!" and most of the player base can't see past "it's back!"

Don't play the game or you'll just have nostalgia for "when it was good."

Not worth it post beyond light. Basically you're getting a campaign, a raid, and access to exotics. Most of the content in this expansion was removed.

So far at least, I enjoy the gameplay. The card unlocking doesn't really seem to scratch the itch, however. At first you get thrown these pack after packs, then they dwindle down to mostly common chests that don't really give you much. It's the much rarer cards that are game changers, as expected.

bought it on the PC because at the time, Runic said they weren't porting to console. They ported to console, and refuses to support controllers.

Great for any cRPG fan such as the Baldur's Gate series. Eora is a really cool setting that I love to explore, bonus points if you want to play as a pirate or privateer. Dialog is great so far.

But there are some downsides.
1. Voice Acting isn't always great, it also has a double wammy of the voices having to load in for a second, meaning in a lot of conversations, you'll have read what was being said before the voice even kicks in.

2. Some of the new companions are just realllly poorly written. Xoti, for example, is this weird thirsty fangirl while also being the religious nut. The story also kind of seems to bend over backwards to give her special moments. She feels like a Mary Sue, even getting her own exclusive subclass that is quite powerful with a first level spell that does over 100 damage.
