This is my GOTY, hands down. I was fairly bored with gaming, and KCD2 has revived my love and wonder. The RPG elements? Superb. Story? Amazing. New equipment system? 10/10, I can finally carry a halberd! So far I love ALMOST everything...

There are a few bugs, and the combat can be a little... Well, monotonous, but overall it is a better system than the first game and a huge improvement.

It doesn't really do anything special, but it is a halfway decent RPG. The world and story is interesting, and the main characters are fairly memorable. Combat is your stereotypical hack n slash, but is still mostly satisfying, although even on hard the game is relatively easy to me.

It reminds me of GreedFall a lot, which I really enjoyed. 70 bucks might be a bit much for it, but so far I think it is worth a play.

Servers are absolutely busted, I cannot even play an entire game without disconnecting despite having good connection. Game will penalize you for disconnecting even if it is not your fault. The server even tells me it is a serverside failure, yet I am still penalized. What an absolutely stupid system.

While the game itself is an absolute blast, that doesn't mater when you can't even pay it.

Has a couple issues here and there, but as a lifelong fan of Indy, and full of disappointment at Disney, the game is great.

Look past the terrible AI(No, really, TERRIBLE) and the basic combat/stealth mechanics and the story so far is good, cinematics are great and the game runs extremely well on my 3060. I look forward to sitting down with it over this holiday and giving a more detailed review soon

Has the necessary Eurojank to be considered a true Stalker game. Optimization is a little lacking, but my(3060 6GB, i7-14800, 16GBRAM) laptop can run it at Medium with no real issues, some stuttering and drops in settlements but overall playable.

As a huge fan of the series, I feel it is a worthy successor other than a few minor issues. First off, the AI is dumb. Like, REALLY dumb. The first firefight I had outside the prologue was won by me simply hiding in a guard shack with a sawn-off and blasting guys as they walked through the door. On normal the gunfights feel like a generic FPS. The mutants make up for this, as they are harder and a little more intelligent than previous games, and some of them(Like Snorks) have been revamped with new abilities. Hunting mutants is fun again.

Secondly, the world is beautiful and vibrant, full of life, but it just doesn't feel the same. It doesn't feel LIVED IN. I haven't noticed the spawning issues that others have reported, but much of the Zone is just... Empty. Dont get me wrong, the old games had empty areas, but you were always aware of SOMETHING happening. While the ambiance of S2 is amazing, there just isn't enough action happening outside of your awareness.

Finally, while the game is much more cinematic, it is missing that little bit of charm the older games have, and I cant quite place my finger on it... Something just feels missing... NPCs aren't as generally chatty, I have not heard a single "Cheeki Breeki..."

Overall I am really happy with the game, and I look forward to GSC patching it and hopefully updating its shortcomings. Long time fans may be happy with the game depending on their individual priorities, but I think it is worth a buy.

It's Bethesda

In Space

Solid 7/10 game, leaves a bit to be desired, but if you like Bethesda games, you'll like it

You can pet the dog

10/10

EDIT: 120ish hours later, finally beat the full release

If this game doesn't win GOTY I will riot.
