This game recieved a lot of hate from disgruntled gamers because it was so critically acclaimed at release. There is this general misconception in the gaming world that a product needs to be universally accepted to recieve wide-spread praise from the media. As many people have said before, this game is not for everyone. I'd go as far as to say that the gaming community is still to immature to handle these games when we are still up to our necks in mindless first-person shooters that have absolutely no narrative value at all. This is a beautiful example of a new kind of story-telling that should be celebrated. I'd also like to add that Dear Esther, another one of my favorites, doesn't recieve nearly as much hate as this game-- yes, it may have a lower price-tag but there is far less interaction going on. I'd advise anyone that's interested in this game to give it a try once they've read more non-biased reviews, or perhaps try to get it while it's on sale if $20 is a bit steep for you, but by all means ignore the majority of these user-reviews because they are complete rubbish.
