The game has devolved into a grindfest where non-F2P vehicles are on average net negative in terms of income, meaning the only money-makers (and most efficient research earners) are premium. Also, the benefits of a premium account don't outweigh this, which means you need to pay twice to progress the tech trees.

The bad economy is enough to make the game unplayable -- frustrating at best, infuriating at worst.

Also, balance is nonexistant. Despite repeated requests to decompress the BR's, it won't happen. The gap between certain BR's is just to high to make those BR bands playable. BR 8.7 jets vs BR 9.7 jets for example. The difference is night and day. No radar, subsonic, gun-based jets vs stuff with long range radars, radar missiles, supersonic, etc. Further, the actual matchmaking is horrendous. You will never play "at your tier" If you have a 5.3 tank, you will be matched against 6.3's nearly every single time. In an experiment I did, the up-tiering occurs in 98.6% of my games, and a "full uptier" where you play against people a full 1.0 higher happens almost 85%. This makes the game untenable, especially with a new vehicle with no modules researched - but you can skip that grind for money too.

There are also numerous other problems with the game
1. Shells disappearing, leaving you sitting with your meat in your hand and often dying
2. Armor inconsistencies
3. Power creep
4. Module grind means your brand-new freshly researched vehicles are basically unplayable
5. Premium vehicles being bought by people who don't actually grind the game, meaning they die once and leave a match

Publisher/Dev greed has run this game into the ground from a beloved vehicle combat simulator to a horrible black pit of time, money, and your happiness. Go play Gunner, Heat, PC or IL-2 Sturmovik or Steel Beasts or ARMA or DCS

Had a few issues on launch, but quite fun now. Often, I get caught up in the macro view of administering an entire empire like in Rome II, but this breaks that down and gives a lot of granularity and lets you feel quite in control. If you have a slower machine, it's not ideal but for anything more modern, it should run just fine.

The primary downside of this game is the time it takes to learn and understand the political side of the game. I know a lot of people hated it in Rome II, but this feels more impactful. It is a bit arcane to learn and difficult to really grock, but once you do, it's not too bad

This game also scratches the itch that the Charlemagne DLC had in Attila without the negative downside of it being Attila. Quick and dirty dark ages warfare. Small units, brutal, and small-scale.

Overall: 7/10
