don't let my playtime fool you, I have put in a lot of hours into this game through parsec with friends and played a lot of NASB1 as well. NASB1 was frankly a pretty lousy game, no voice acting, no colors, lazy skins, jank mechanics, bad balancing, overall just a bad time that I regret purchasing.

so honestly I was pretty shocked when NASB2 got announced, I figured NASB1 did so poorly we wouldn't get a sequel but I was a little excited to see them getting a second chance... but I did not forget about the lackluster quality of NASB1.

a lot of my fears about NASB2 came true when i realized they cut a bunch of characters out from the original roster leaving the final roster barely even bigger than the original game, but when the game dropped I wound up having A LOT of fun. as a massive avatar fan it was nice to see aang and korra being INFINITELY less jank than they were back in NASB1, and azulas OP ass was tons of fun. in general I felt almost every char in this game was pretty fun to play at launch, they all had sauce and some gross ♥♥♥♥ that made them fun.

but that's the problem, AT LAUNCH this game was sooo fun but this game suffered from over balancing to the point of literally removing the only things that made characters fun. at launch gertie could cancel her side special on hit letting her fly across the screen with insane momentum. it was barely controllable but it was SO fun and badass to land trickshots with the insane burst of speed, that has since been REMOVED.

that right there is part of why this is a "do not recommend" from me, their balancing choices make NO sense at all. korra's down special is a metal whip, the sweetspot of the whip pulls enemies closer to her, that is the SINGLE purpose of the move. at launch it would pull enemies to you and you could hit them with almost any attack in your arsenal. after a round of "balancing" patches that down special was nerfed SO hard that you can BARELY even land her back air (one of her fastest moves) after it, making the move practically useless. overbalance is real, and this game definitely suffered from it.

and this isn't even going into the fact that right before this game dropped they laid off our goat thaddeus from ludocity, in general this game isn't so geat. it's overbalanced, buggy, dead, and the companies surrounding it are seedy.
