The escape key is an UNLISTED restart button. It's a button I hit as a reflex when I need to bring up a game menu, when I want to pause for whatever reason. I have just played half of the same level probably about 5 times today because I keep hitting escape. F1 is listed as the restart key (and this works) and so does the button right next to it, you can't change this, you can't stop it. It also ruins "first try" attempts since resetting accidentally makes it no longer your first time (which is an achievement)

I LOVED this game when I was younger playing the original, but this one issue (and one that was mentioned multiple times in comments as a problem to the developers) is making it nearly unplayable.

Keys aren't wrenches. This game has pretty much the worst mismatches on item names I have ever seen in a Hidden Object Puzzle game.

Hidden object puzzles have several common issues. This one suffers from several of them. A big one is multiple objects in the picture matching the clue (I counted 6 wheels in a picture, they only asked for 1) another is regionally or wrongly named items (A gamepad called a joystick, a telescope where it said microscope). This game also has a few less common issues, formerly clickable areas sometimes still flash as if they were active, and some spots to click and zoom in for collecting items have no way of knowing they are there.

Once upon a time I would have recommended this game. There were some interesting ideas like creating cards to go in you (or your opponent's) decks, the PvE was interesting, the game was fun.

Then everything changed. Well technically NOTHING changed, and that was the entire problem. They haven't really done much except PvP events in ages. I haven't seen any new cards since I backed out of the game, the PvE got one extra zone, but then nothing (and there is evidence that there was supposed to be more - a still locked off PvE third tier set of skills that hasn't been finished in over 4 years, some of the better and more fun cards were heavily nerfed. The game has stagnated. Hard.

The game is great, it's a real shame the company went under, their next game looked like it would be good and I was really hoping for a Hand of Fate 3.

The overall mechanic of setting up the deck to choose part of your challenges is a great idea, the shift between the card game and the hack and slash is well done, and the difficulty is high enough to be enjoyable but not so high as to frustrate (unless you WANT it to be, and build your deck to make things harder)

This game is one of the worst hidden object puzzles I have ever played. Not because of the story, I liked that. It didn't have some of the major issues with games of it's type, regional item names, multiple tools that can do the same job, but had some others, needing to come back to pick up an item at the right time. The main issue with this game was click detection - you'd click an item in a HoP and it wouldn't pick up because your mouse was on the wrong spot on the item, and you have to doubt then if this is really the hidden item, or if there is another item in the picture that fits the clue.

There are three big problems with hidden object puzzle games that this game suffers from.

The first is regional names - I had to look up what a "demijohn" and a "samovar" are, we tend to just call them jugs and coffee urns here. Using words for items that most of the world, outside your region maybe, doesn't know kind of sucks.

The second issue is multiple of the same item in a HoP - Some times the words are not specific enough, and I have clicked on the wrong item that fits the clue so many times in these games, like clicking on the record showing in the jukebox in this game when it wanted the golden one hanging in the frame on the wall - both match the record clue.

The third issue in this one is having puzzles need specific items, when others will work - fridge magnet won't work to pull a steel nut out of where it fell into a chair, you can't use that one sharp object to cut the chair lining, you have to use it to cut something else, we have a different knife you don't even know about to solve this puzzle.

This one isn't the worst I have seen, but it suffers a lot from these three issues.

There's an issue, an error somewhere in the python code, a bad variable that is making it crash on me all the time, and while the developers responded to my report, they responded only once and then have ignored me for about a month now without the issue being fixed

Dungeons and Dragons doesn't translate perfectly to a computer game, but this is a great attempt at it. The story is great, the game play definitely good for the era, all in all worth the purchase and the playthrough.

I have changed my review from positive to negative because while the game keeps getting updates, the most requested changes keep getting ignored (The games are too short, honor pool needs to be bigger) and some of the most needed fixes never happen (if you combo off, the animations and calculations take unreasonably long)

The game is good, the physical game is fun and got me to buy it here, but where I could have a few hundred Honor per player in physical, the game is capped to 60 per player in offline, which usually gets emptied before 10% of the centre deck is gone if using most of the expansions. I tend to be an enlightened/mechana combo player - it's not uncommon for me to have, and play, a deck of hundreds of cards in a single turn, I shouldn't be able to do all the calculations of effects for those turns in physical play faster than the game can.

It's been six months since I've played this single player vs AI, and far longer since I have played against people mostly because of these two major issues just making it not fun to do anymore.

---

I love the game, and with most of the expansions free it's easier than the physical version (not to mention a few things that only work digitally, though there were things that only worked on the physical copy too, like dropping cards onto the table)

There are some issues, but only in games long after you've won. I've got a few dozen games saved where the game won't load or has frozen once loaded - there's some bad design decisions that create a scalability problem to number of cards played in a single turn, but all in all it's a fun game.
