I can only describe gameplay as a mix between Hyper Light Drifter and Hotline Miami. The game was a bit shorter than I thought it would be but it was still pretty fun a reasonably challenging. If you liked the challenge of either Hotline Miami or Hyper Light Drifter and are looking to buy this game, I would recommend playing it on hard difficulty. Since it's from Devolver there's a few hidden gems here and there if you can find them. Overall a pretty decent game with a pretty nifty cyberpunk atmosphere.

For the most part I enjoyed this game, and in many ways it follows the same mechanics as Dark Souls. However I will say that map layouts are intricate and very confusing with seemingly endless amounts of shortcuts on shortcuts, and enemies lack variety so most of time it's the same song and dance. Other than that combat and controls feel pretty good and the world it builds is fairly interesting.

Beautiful, Challenging, and Expansive

At first I thought the game wouldn't be that long or immense, but after playing it for so long I am still scrambling to find secret areas, hidden bosses, and other challenges scattered throughout the world. Despite your silent protagonist, I would say the story is very emotional and has many interesting turns with quite a few notable characters. The combat can be frusterating and difficult but it also teaches you how to adapt to various enemies and use different tactics. It's an excellent game whether you are in it for completionism, story, or just hacking and slashing your way across a vast world.

This game is addictively fun to play. It may not take a lot of time to beat, but it certainly takes time to master. Gameplay is fast paced and challenging, but the complexity of levels becomes ridiculous making it extremely satisfying to play.

Everything about this game is well thoughtout and intriguing. Given there is very little exposition thoughout the entirety of the story, it inspires a sense of curosity as to what happened, is happening, and will happen. The atmosphere is brilliantly designed and further instills a sense of wonder.

The actual gameplay is fairly challenging, but with practice it becomes very fast and elegant. In addition, having an eye for secrets and a sense for exploration is often very rewarding in this game. Though the world may not be as expansive as it initially seems, that doesn't subtract from how well-made this game is.

It seemed a bit much that Overkill would put out a DLC nearly every month, making it a costly game if you want to follow it closely or have better equipment in-game. Now that microtransactions were added, I am convinced that the only heist going on is Overkill trying to grab as much money as they can from the community that used to support them.
