You can look at my time played and understand I've had time to consider this review. Once Human is a shameless cash grab which uses the worst of gacha mechanics while putting in what appears to be the bare minimum of effort.

I've seen games in beta more stable and more functional. You'll be shocked to learn they didn't want me to sell my plasma for texture pack. Unstable servers. ridiculous scheduling. Limited capacity for players. Disgusting monetization.

It's an interesting premise bogged down by sickening greed and clumsy devs that seem more comfortable selling their cosmetics locked behind loot crate BS than fixing game play crippling bugs. An absolutely shameless Unity asset flip of a game.

Update of an Updated Review:

Review will be changed once Sony stops blocking purchase of the game from the 160+ countries that don't have PSN. People are going to notice filthy moves like this. Contempt for customers is shockingly not a good strategy for maintaining a healthy player base.

I am a simple Scribs; Company do good? I reward them. Arrowhead and Sony went through the community blender for a particularly short-sighted reason (on Sony's part.) Play Station Network accounts were never mandatory and ultimately were a detriment to fans who cannot make them. Make no mistake, I don't trust Sony still, but I can respect that they saw the public backlash and made the decision to back off this mandatory account linking.

Review:
Helldivers 2 is a good game and (even more-so in this day and age of micro-transactions, season passes, overly expensive DLC)... an -honest- game. They respect their players time, their player's wallets, and while they may occasionally have a Community Management goof up- it seems the CEO understands the point of a game company is to create a game FOR their customers to enjoy.

The game is a crazy jumble of chaotic war theatres. Between the giant bug menace and the robot communists, you and your highly expendable squad mates are all that stands in the way of the pristine, beautiful, DEMOCRATIC SUPER EARTH and these galactic devils. The weapons are varied and crazy (though prone to changes of usefulness per patch). The enemies are ever-evolving with introduction of new variants as well as completely new enemy types. The constantly changing battlefront, global missions, and daily missions means there is something going on. Not to mention the community. Helldivers 2 community is possibly one of the more enthusiastic I have seen.

As long as certain publishing companies don't make poor judgement calls concerning mandatory extra obligations from the community- there will always be some nightmarish hell on either front to dive into... and dive we shall. Together or not at all.

9/10 Game. 10/10 Studio. 1/10 Publisher

P.S. We need more studios like Arrowhead... and far less Publishers like Sony.

I take back everything I said. Server dependent games are a cancer.

They DO NOT have the capacity to run this game reliably and the load times are horrific. They only need the server because of the cosmetics shop, so this actively ruins the experience in order to satiate greed from the company.

I swear 25-30% of my game play is probably load times.

2.5/10

While I don't recommend it, I would be open to "buy it when it's on sale" being the real judgement.

Sometimes the game is fun, but I'm not sure how after a year of updates and patches, the game runs even worse for me.
The Good list:
• You can now craft multiple items in stacks instead of one at a time.
• Clothing is more diverse in styles.

The Bad list:
• Pop-ins
• Cut scene models out of place
• Being aggro'd by enemies from behind walls and well outside of their sight range
• T-posing
• Acrobatic corpses that perform flips in place long after dying
• Bloom drowning out everything after un-pausing the game
• Guns flickering
• Color of guns in menu not reflecting their in-game models once equipped
• The game outright crashing

This is a year later. A year of supposed development and polish to sort out the bugs. No changes to my hardware. The only changes would be OS updates to Windows 10 and that doesn't justify that I am effectively playing a less reliable game than when it was initially released.

They fixed their online connectivity and stability issues. Ergo, sure- buy it. It's fun. Sadly Rockstar doesn't love it enough to do much else when they can release another hovering missile launching space bike in GTA V for the goblins to buy.

Cozy though.

No Man's Sky used to be garbage, but now it's not.

I blame the Internet Historian for me giving this a second look.

Game's fun now. Tons of extra ♥♥♥♥ that never existed during my initial review in September.

There's still some issues, glitches, texture and shading situations... but it's at least enjoyable despite these flaws.

Game Play - 7.5 / 10
Game Play reward loop is a little clumsy, some rewards take a while to grind for while other much more monumentally game changing ones are just dropped in your lap.
•Base building is alright, though terrain manipulation could do with some minor adjustments.
•Freighter ownership is okay, but could be managed more intuitively.
•Flying is okay. Nothing impressive and Keyboard+mouse controls are questionably mapped.
•Learning languages is less of a pain than originally released due to additional opportunities to pic up words.

Story - 5/10
Everything is text, entry logs, lore... and it's okay. They play up Lovecraftian elements that never seem to be present or reflect in actual game play.

This is a multiplayer game now- which it always should have been from the start. You need friends or community to play with in order to keep yourself more invested. Exploring with friends is basically a must in my opinion.

Final thoughts: You won me back and this was all after the absolutely horrific treatment the game community. A game community which (understandably) was disappointed in the mediocre state this game released in. It's good. Not great, but good. It's something worth exploring again.

I hope the devs continue to work on this, but at this point it's at least good enough that I no longer feel as if I had been scammed.

Remember when you could play games without garbage DRM runining everything? Boy oh boy were those good times. I've spent four hours trying to get this game to sign in to Games for Windows Live. At this point if I don't get the refund, I won't care. I'll just keep this review up. Maybe educate some other people looking to play this from buying it. Nobody deserves money from their customers if this is how they treat them.

Talisman is a game of adventure, excitement, and challenge; a game where you the player are the ones who build the cross the AI nails you to. Dying from a gut seeping wound might be more enjoyable. If you reach the crown before the AI, you better expect to choke hard and roll absolutely abysmal. If you think the AI is doing something stupid? It's because the AI has decided to give you this illusion before three turns later it's suddenly twice as strong wielding magic faster than a video game player can blame a computer for his failings. This game is not your friend. This game hates you. This game lives off of your suffering. Any achievement is to lull you into a false sense of security. All hail your new dark gods, the AI.

10/10 Would forsake my first born child to actually roll what I need when I need it.

P.S. SHODAN is more merciful than this game.

Once I had regained my password, Warframe had still turned out to be a grind. You will spend ages rerunning levels and hoping for drops for specific pieces or patterns to unlock equipment. For those of you with fat wallets and little time to earn the gear legitimately, you can pay to unlock the weapons. It's a bit of a shame none of the vanity items can be earned in game though.

Luckily, the game is still fun in a very visceral sense. Gunning down grunts while they swarm at you on defensive missions is one of the best parts, though it does appear they've rebalance a large portion of the game since I last played.

The emergence of a story that does not require you to go browsing forums and creators notes is refreshing as well.

7/10
Would be better if you didn't have to spend so damn long (or so damn much) to unlock some of the gear.

Seriously. Stop charging so damn much.

Okay, fine! The game is fun again! Why don't you just rub it in my face Overkill? Buy everything for a nice price, buy the H3H3 DLC so you can feel like you contribued (*cough cough* get the DLC weapons and characters *cough*) and then have fun. Earn all the loots, upgrade the safe house, never pay for keys to unlock crates. Good job Overkill, you are going to destroy my free time. You monsters.
