No Man's Sky used to be garbage, but now it's not.

I blame the Internet Historian for me giving this a second look.

Game's fun now. Tons of extra ♥♥♥♥ that never existed during my initial review in September.

There's still some issues, glitches, texture and shading situations... but it's at least enjoyable despite these flaws.

Game Play - 7.5 / 10
Game Play reward loop is a little clumsy, some rewards take a while to grind for while other much more monumentally game changing ones are just dropped in your lap.
•Base building is alright, though terrain manipulation could do with some minor adjustments.
•Freighter ownership is okay, but could be managed more intuitively.
•Flying is okay. Nothing impressive and Keyboard+mouse controls are questionably mapped.
•Learning languages is less of a pain than originally released due to additional opportunities to pic up words.

Story - 5/10
Everything is text, entry logs, lore... and it's okay. They play up Lovecraftian elements that never seem to be present or reflect in actual game play.

This is a multiplayer game now- which it always should have been from the start. You need friends or community to play with in order to keep yourself more invested. Exploring with friends is basically a must in my opinion.

Final thoughts: You won me back and this was all after the absolutely horrific treatment the game community. A game community which (understandably) was disappointed in the mediocre state this game released in. It's good. Not great, but good. It's something worth exploring again.

I hope the devs continue to work on this, but at this point it's at least good enough that I no longer feel as if I had been scammed.
