Really a beautiful story that gets undercut by the clunky controls and not so refined gameplay. But personally I was able to look past all of its faults and still get sucked into the plot and its characters. This is definitely one of those occasions I would consider video games used as a medium for art being pulled off.

A lot of love was put into the game, and it shows in the amount of details and secrets that can be found throughout. Secrets that arent required to understand the story, but that give more it depth.

One of those games I wish I could play again blind

By no means is outer worlds a "bad game", if anything, it runs smoothly, is visually appealing and has no bugs or glitches whatsoever. Something that simply cant be said for alot of other games of this genre.

I was never bored in Fallout new vegas or Fallout 4, and Fallout 4 is a mess, but I was bored in outer worlds.

But and a big BUT, Everything this game tries to do, has already been done and better. Sure its the same formula as New Vegas but its certainly not the same quality. Just because its obsidian, doesn't mean its the same team from New Vegas. Similar to Turtle Rock studios on Back 4 Blood (slight exaggeration). Same formula, poorly executed. The plot is thin, the characters are uninteresting and the whole world is, for the most part, bland. It leaves me feeling uninterested in the plot.

So yeah dawg its a No from me

Fun game, but the lack of combos is really disappointing. So if thats all you do, then it gets boring fast. There are maybe a total of 3-5 "combos", (although they are hardly combo) which you can use, but with the amount of bad guys the game throws at you, they stop being viable pretty quickly. At which point you resort to one move (slide) to cheese the game. Plus, the four different characters dont play that different from each other except for differences in speed and damage.

Basically combat can get stale quick, too many baddies on screen hard to read. hit detection is not great.

Hands down one of the best games I have ever played, no exaggeration. I can understand this not for everyone it being a game about exploration, mystery and problem solving, as well as alot of text to read (just read b i t ch). BUT I would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't think this is a really freakin cool game.

Once in a life time game experience.

Easily one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had. 10/10 would 100% again

This game is fun, but please for the love of god, more servers will only come if more people get it :(
For now, get it only on sale.

WE ARE SO BACK

TLDR: unpolished game, would only buy on sale $15 or less

Very disappointed in this game, so much wasted potential that just never was never fully realised. Its one of those games that just starts out very promising, but the longer you play, the more flaws you notice in pretty much everything.

PROS:

- Neat art style
- Unique Story/ world building
- Really good voice acting (when its key characters, everyone else is the same five actors)
- decent skill tree

CONS:
- Generic, lifeless, open world
- bad combat
- annoying lite survival mechanics (eating and drinking is optional, you dont have to drink or
eat, you do it only to have more stamina etc)
- Lots of buggy AI and quest bugs
- Unnecessarily long game
- unfair difficulty spike in the last act.
- Exploitable AI

the way the game plays out is so out of wack, you start as a jack of all trades character, who when fully upgraded, rivals zues him f u c k i n g self, who can do everything, to then a weak little witch doctor, and finally a slow r e t a r d e d fat guy. They let you power trip with the first character, and then strip you of everything to become these two other characters who are less capable. It seems cool at first, like "oh interesting one can do only science and one can do only mechanical stuff" but its s h i t. they feel weak, they have extra things you have to "manage" and overall are dumb poo poo caca dog s h i t additions in terms of gameplay. which is sad because their stories are not bad, their stories are good.

Basically this game wants to wow you with its presentation, but its super half baked. It truly feels like an unpolished Unreal engine demo. At its best, its a cool dystopian story. But, at its worst, its a frustratingly un-fun and boring survival game that even ignores its survival mechanics. Like, they knew their s h i t t y ideas were going to annoy everyone when there is a late game perk that ELIMINATES THE NEED TO EAT AND DRINK. which says alot when food and drink is already an optional temporary bonus, so you dont HAVE to drink. Also if you get into a fight one place and leave, no matter where you go, unless you wait for your original pursuer to go out of hostile mode, everyone and anyone will aggro you.

UPDATE: Just finished the season pass, not worth the extra money. Got it only because it was five bucks for all three. They last you about an hour each, even on the hardest difficulty, and don't have anything to with each other lol. Except for the very last one, they are each their own separate adventures with no real correlation to the main plot. The stories themselves arent even that clear, creating more questions than they do answer them. Also as unpolished as the base game itself, gameplay is boring and uninteresting, trying to hook you in with the story more than anything, but really since the dlc's are so short, there isnt much to offer.
