Raceroom has become my favorite sim followed closely by Assetto Corsa. This sim is not for the casual race fan. Serious need only apply here. The 92 DTM series is a total blast. Amd if you take the time to train the adaptive AI, you will have some of the best single player races ever. Ignore the negative reviews. Yes it costs money but we live in a world where you get what you pay for and with this game you GET!

OMG, I totally agree! This game is serious business, like, super challenging. 92 DTM is 💯! You gotta put in the work with the AI tho.

You will spend money for this no doubt. But it's no different than buying Assetto Corsa and all of its DLC. There is a way to save though. The game supports in game currency called vrp. They sell the vrp on their "raceshop" web page. You get big discounts this way. Even buying the cars and tracks in game from their raceroom website is cheaper than Steam. Find what you like and buy a pack. You can test drive every car. If you only like one car in a class, you only need to purchase that car and all cars will be available to race against. You also will never be double charged for anything, so if you decide to complete the class or pack, your owned content will be deducted. Hope this helps.

You said "you get what you pay for," but currently, the base game is free. Do you have to spend a lot on more cars?
