As of today, I am pretty mixed about this game and I can't recommend it in its current state. This product aims to be a mix between "PayDay" and "Ready or Not," which, to be honest, is a good idea, and it's even quite well executed. You're free to play however you want. If you plan to play tactically, prepare your objectives, and be methodical, you can. If you prefer a more aggressive, no-nonsense approach, you can too. It's really cool to be able to do what you want, but it could cause problems later on. Like, if you play with randoms.

You play as an agent who must face a horde of mercenaries, alone or in a group of up to four, and complete objectives on a map (clear the area, defuse bombs, free hostages, decrypt computers, etc.). This involves either strategic planning and execution to reach the end, or simply shooting everything that moves. On paper it sounds great, you can discuss with your mates whats the best way to acheive a level... But in reality, nobody cares. Basically, you grab a weapon, your vest, and charge headlong into the fray, running around in all directions hoping to stumble upon an objective, and succeed. I haven't seen anyone try to play like a tactical commando or even cooperatively (except when it comes to reviving a teammate, and even then...). I understand that the developers' goal is to make the game playable solo or with others, providing tools for those who want to play as a team, but in my experience, players couldn't care less. Because you can easily play without them. Which is nice, sometimes. But at the moment, the AI and the missions are not difficult at all if you decide to use a bit part of your brain. Actually, for the moment, there's barely any challenge.

You have to complete a few levels before facing the final boss, eliminating him, and extract. As you progress, the missions will become more "difficult." Along the way, you'll gain skills points, and money to spend on weapons, grenades, body armor, and first aid kits. You earn money based on your performance and how you complete your missions. For example, you earn more money if you decide to neutralize your targets non-lethally with a paintball gun rather than killing them. It's entirely up to you, as the money you earn depends on your individual performance.

There are only four maps available, which is not many. And on top of that, I don't find them very good. Repetitive, empty, lacking in excitement and atmosphere, it's kinda disappointing.

To be clear, I'm fully aware that this is an "Early Access" game, but, can we really excuse everything just because it's labeled as such? And I'm not even talking about the bugs. I know perfectly well that at this stage, as I'm writing this review, the game has barely been released to the public, which is normal, but still, I think it's precisely at this point that the game needs to make you want to keep playing. Right now, I'm just thinking, "I spent 20 bucks, it's meh, but nothing more. I'm gonna uninstall the game and wait one or two years while the developers work on it and see how it goes." I mean, I kinda enjoyed the experience, but I expected more of it. I think this game has potential. But there's too little content to be a 100% percent sure about it. I mean, you pay 20 euros and they promise you a great experience, but it's like I'm here getting an appetizer offered by the devs, but this is one is literally bland. Give me some spices and flavour so I can enjoy it and look forward to what's next!

TL;DR: The game is kinda fun, but the content is too shy to realize it. I'd advise you to put this game your wishlist and wait for more contents and updates before buying it.

Military Conflict: Vietnam is a great game that deserve more attention. It feels like old CS 1.6, with CoD IV and WaW vibes, in the Vietnam war. This is an "arena shooter", and in the good way.

The gunplay is intense and dynamic. The atmosphere immediately draws you in. There's a ton of weapons to play with, a bunch of playable maps that continues to grow (and some are reworked) and the best mods for hours in blood and sweat.

While the game is still in AA, the devs constantly update it with cool stuff. They even added a Zombie mod wich is very fun and like the good old days of CoD.

Don't expect jaw-dropping graphics, in fact, globally, they are very decent. The game is running on the Source Engine, but, those who have already played a game on it know that it can run on any machine just fine.

Unfortunately, the game suffers from an (unfair) lack of players. But the AI is here to piss you off and it's pretty well coded enough to keep you entertained while you wait for other players to join.

MC:V is packaged at a reasonable price. The only flaw in the game, as I said, is its lack of players. Let's us hope that this game gains popularity in the future. And, when I see that Dustfade continues to provide quality content for this game, I think we're on the right track.
