Warning, This game will murder your gpu. Running at 1440p ultrawide with dlss set to performance on a 3090 was getting me 30-40fps depending on the scene. path tracing is a really cool concept, but with the amount of de noising you have to do with the rays you currently have, Its only going to be cool as a demonstration of enhancing older games like this for a long time. do not expect path traced AAA titles any time in the next decade.

But that said, wow for just being a mod that injects itself on top of an older game, this is a really cool concept and a fantastic tech demo. The enviroment in the chase scene is INSANE. when you go back and compare it to even the dx9 version of portal. 10x more when you look and see what rtx remix had to work with, using the dx8 version of portal to build off of.

I also enjoy the look that nvidia went for with the early levels, even if it doesnt stay true to the original artist intent. If i wanted that i wouldnt be using graphics mods imo.

This game will definitely be something that I will keep going back to when I get a new gpu for the forseeable future. This and minecraft rtx have turned into the ray tracing generation version of crysis.

Wow. I had low expectations going into this game. I had figured EA killing Ghost Games after NFS Heat meant that the next game in the need for speed series was going to be completely different. I saw that 'Criterion' was making it, but at this point criterion hadnt made a racing game in a LOOONG time so I figured all the talent had left there long ago.

But my assumptions about everything I had seen from the launch trailer was completely wrong on ALL fronts, well nearly all.

First off this game is running on the same framework that ghost has built on over time since nfs 2015. The heat system is still in, but tweaked and tuned. The cops are easier to evade in this one compared to heat. But where they took away challenge in one area they added more challenges elsewhere, which is okay. Now going into the garage progresses time forward 12hrs, The heat you have from the morning carries over into the night but you bank your money. The heat resets the next morning. You also have a limited replay system where depending on the difficulty you have a limited number of replays that you can use. They also reset in the mornings. There is no way to race legally anymore, so that and the limited replays makes it understandable why they made the cops easier. Dont get me wrong though, its still a fun sweat fest breaking away from the cops with 5 heat, but definitely easier.

Car progression through the story is a big +++ Each week in the story focuses on a different class of car with a big race at the end of the week. Its incredibly nice not being given a S+ car right at the start of the game like so many modern racing games do now...cough cough forza cough cough...

Quality of the story itself is meh, Im halfway through and while its not, bad. Im not really drawn to the characters. I will put a trigger warning in here though. If the idea of trans people existing in a racing game, makes you angry and you feel like that makes this game "political". Please dont pick this game up. We don't need you in our multiplayer lobbies, thanks.

Justicia is a mfing queen for helping me get bonus bucks in races early on. We Stan.

This game basically picks up straight after the first ps4 spider man game, Now titled Spider Man: Remastered. If you havent played that I would HIGHLY reccomend playing that one first before this one. The original story is far longer and more of a traditional spider man story with iconic spider man villains. The story in this one is fantastic though. And for gameplay the new Electricity and Camo skills, the tweaking of fighting mechanics, and changes to the Invulnerability windows for enemies are shortened to help prevent move spamming.

In ye olden games this would have been considered an expansion pack. But considering hell hole that is the current monetization state of AAA games, Im pretty okay with spending $10 extra to skip all that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and just have a true singleplayer story game.

Definitely cant wait for the next game in the series. Looking forward to what they teased in the post credit scene!

The insomniac spiderman games are truly fantastic games. I played this originally on ps4 and was amazed by how great the gameplay and story was. The performance was bad though. But with it now being on pc you can crank the ever loving crap out of the framerate or the graphics. This game is really scalable. If you have a ps5 your not missing out on much over this one. But this is better if you are deciding between this or the ps5 version if you have a gpu that can match or better the ps5

I have only gone through 5 days so far, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is SUPER FUN. If you like management games like papers please, and like og south park esque political satire, this game is a hit!

I love going through after doing the episode and watching the clips of the news anchors talking or reacting to the field reporter. It gives this game an extra layer of depth to the world the game creates

This is by far the best one yet. the map is incredible, I love the new handling and the way the cars bounce and react to the ground is amazing. I played a lot of horizon 4 and im about to play A LOT more of horizon 5. The only thing that bothers me is that the windows store/gamepass version saves cant cross over with the steam version. The seperation of the two pc games just seems weird to me. Id love to pick this up on xbox and have my steam save transfer to the console like it does with the uwp version. I jsut hate dealing with the windows store enough that id take the limitations of the steam version over the windows store version all day every day.

Horrible performance on A FREAKIN 3090 and an i9 (apparently david braben is saying that 'older' machines are having performance problems) im talking sub 30 fps for a first person shooter. And that was my experience from the paid alpha, apparently the final product is actually LESS performant than the alpha was. Planet generation is nowhere near advertised. None of the on foot part of this expansion works in vr you just get thrown to a virtual screen, even though you can literally walk around in vr with the vanity cam. HUD elements in the ship used to be 3 dimensional but now its 2d.

This expansion was hella rushed and should have been delayed just like the console versions of this expansion were delayed. But was released anyway so it could show up on their end of fiscal year report. Just another case of shareholders being prioritized over the consumer. Ill just end it with a past quote from head of fdev, david braben.

"In March 2015, David Braben said supporting the Oculus Rift right from the start was possible, because Elite Dangerous is self-published by Frontier Developments rather than a publisher. With a publisher they'd have to make a business case for it and it would end up being pushed out into the future"

Oh how the times have changed, and the tables have turned. If you want a better 2d space legs early access game, get star citizen. If you want to see what 20 people can do better than 500 people can do for vr space legs, get no mans sky. Both options are better than this half baked, rushed piece of trash that fdev squirted out.

Early Access Review
This game made me want to learn how to model in unity. Having a character that I designed with my own imagination in the multiverse that vr chat provides, with full body tracking. Is next level insane.

Now I wish i could get more than 45fps in public lobbies with my i9 and 3090.........
