This game with VR is insane. You NEED a flight stick with lots of buttons though. But when you do, and you take time to learn step by step on how to control the minute little intracicies of space ship flight, this game really makes you feel like you are living in the year 3000, but the world is so vast and unexplored, it feels like back in the gold rush era of the united states, where bounty hunters, miners, and explorers made livings of traversing the land and selling resources or exploration data.

No lie in my first week i had gotten 6 data delivery missions to go from the near starter area ALLLLL THE WAY to colonia. And even with watching videos saying to not take it, i ended up doing it anyways, because I wanted to experience what it would be like doing a long haul trip in outer space in vr. I ended up using a virtual desktop overlay program to throw up one of my monitors in my periprial vision in space and started watching a bunch of youtube while i flew to colonia.

All of my friends have only played on 2d screens, and while they also have 100+ hours in the game, i really think they are missing out on this game in vr, because anytime i launch the game without vr i am immediatley getting the itch to reorganize my room to get the vr headset out.

Vr really turns this game from a fun space simulator game, to ACTUALLY being in space. The mundane parts of this game that people talk about as a negative to this game, end up being a positive in vr because it really makes you feel like you are in full control of your ship, whereas star wars squadrons in vr is great, its got more action and an actual story mode, with the limitations in controls, you end up feeling like your playing a game more than you actually feeling like you are virtually in space like you do in elite.

Loving it so far! The gameplay is incredible. Super pinpoint precise and difficult, but I can tell that im getting better and better from when i first played the demo.

But on my 3090 rtx in the settings is a little bugged, when i try turning on the setting it will revert back to off after i click apply and unpause then pause again but Im pretty sure its working because im getting 60-70 fps, while when i reboot with it off im getting 170fps...pretty minor bug though.

Fully supports 32:9 ultrawides in everything but the main menu...you can even see the full model of the katana!

If you have a 120hz monitor, and a decent pc, the next thing you should get is a vr headset.

Great game, I wish rockstar would remaster this game instead of re-re-mastering gta 5 for the new gen consoles

While i definitely was more waiting for the past 9 years to play a new single player valve game. Second place is seeing WHY i had to wait 9 years. This definitely is showing us the canned projects and i love it.

I really dont like jrpg genre games, but from always hearing from every one of my friends about how persona 4 is the best jrpg ever and since it came to pc I bought it and gave it a shot.

I tried, I really tried, but jrpgs really arent for me. Hell It took pokemon lets go pikachu before I could beat a friggin pokemon game since they take out 3/4s of the battles and replaced it with pokemon go.

So after getting to the point where Kanji gets kidnapped and absolutley LOVING the story, but hating the turn based my number is bigger than your number simulator. I switched to the anime.

This story is INCREDIBLE. The characters are amazing. I just love the whole persona theme of finding and accepting your inner self. I absolutley stan Kanji.

If you love jrpgs play this game, but you already knew that. If you dont like jrpgs, even though i didnt like it i still reccomend it, because if there was one jrpg that could convert you I do think it could very well be this game.

10/10 even though this game isnt for me really. I can clearly see why this game is considered a masterpiece by many who are into this style of game.

here we go now OFF THE RAAAIIILLLSSS.

People be like: wow planet coaster is like roller coaster tycoon 4 since its from the same devs as 3.

I be like: Bruh Planet coaster is roller coaster tycoon 5, thrillville is roller coaster tycoon 4

Game still runs great even though its 13 years old too. Im suprised its still for sale. The only tweak id make is to turn the graphics down in the settings menu, the high poly models dont fit the style of this game, there is a steam guide showing the difference and what to do.

The best Vr game ever made. period. The best single player game valve has ever made. period. For vr's first AAA game I feel that they have a grand slam on their hands. While definitely keeping other half life weapons and mechanics still on the table for future games and further polishing. This game alone is worth buying a vr headset for. You dont NEED an index to play, but MAAANN the index really was amazing to play this game on. Oculus rift s could be found for 350 before alyx was announced, Id definitely say when stock of headsets gets better, Its a no brainer to anyone who has a computer powerful enough to run this game.

Thumbstick locomotion makes me SICK in vr really easily, I cant play a game like boneworks for more than an hour before I get vomity. I am SUPER glad to say that I used the thumbstick locomotion in alyx for the entire game and I was able to play the game completley fine, I would be playing in 3-5 hour sessions each time, and by the end of it id be more tired from my heart beating so much and just being on my feet dodging headcrabs and combine. than having to stop because i was sick.
