I can't believe they added Steam Deck support to this game

Beautiful atmosphere with a touching story played by children. The only thing holding the game are the wooden animations and dialogue. 7/10

Steam Deck Notes:

Run amazing. One would thinks rendering hundreds of rats would kill the thing, but it doesn't! The Deck chugs along smoothly.

First of all: if you have the Steam Deck, then you have to get this game. Now let's get into the review:

Review

Not even one minute into the game; I had only taken my first steps and picked up an object, I already knew this was going to be up there among one of my favorite games. The feel of movement, freedom of exploration, and simplicity of the control scheme makes this a great casual story game to sit back to. But don't even get me started on the story.

If you are a fan of the "Blade Runner" films, then you will enjoy the story that this game has to tell. Where "Blade Runner" speaks from the human perspective, "Detroit" tells the tail from the androids': what it is like to be treated as a slave; as property. To be hunted down and have everything taken away from you

However my biggest complaint is the Markus storyline. Without spoiling anything, I find this character's story very slow and boring. While at the same time, this character has the strongest influence on the other two characters. There are also some awkward moments in this character's story where the writer's clearly wrote themselves into a corner and they just had to let some weirdness happen.

All in all, I would put this in my top 5 favorite games (with Soma at the top). 8/10

The brass tax

Pros:

- Well thought out, choose-your-path story game

- Simple controls and UI for casual gameplay (allows you to focus more on the story)

- Lot's of replayability (levels have many starting and ending points that all depend on your decisions. This (SPOILER) level has 8 possible endings!)

Cons:

- Some levels aren't very straight forward (you might have to look around a bit to find the objective)

- Sometime slow (especially in the beginning but bear with the game. It's about building the characters)

- Some awkward moments in the writing (but it's too intrusive)

Steam Deck Notes:

Runs great. The game is clearly designed to be played on controller. I honestly think it would be harder to play on mouse and keyboard. Despite the visuals being absolutely amazing, the battery can hold it's own. I was able to play for the entire duration of a 6-hour flight and still have battery to spare.

Funny that this game still requires a super computer to run on max settings

I really want to recommend this game but cannot

Like other reviews have stated: the AI is braindead and vehicles are overpowered. Whichever faction currently has a vehicle active will quickly steamroll the entire map and retake whatever objectives you spend the last hour capturing. The AI is so braindead in fact that the only way for anything to get done in this game is you have to drop all the cool mechanics and just run stealth so that you can destroy defenses and then use every last ticket you have spamming paratroopers on an objective hopping they don't all instantly die due to their stupidity

Also, the way the game determines what you are aiming at is really bad. 9/10 you'll die because the game thinks you don't have LOS of the enemy but the AI gets to cheat and shoot through terrain and obstacles. The other 1/10 is the AI cheating and getting to see/shoot you further than you can see

Other times you can't hit an enemy because the game somewhat autoaims (which prevents you from leading moving targets). Thus an enemy can run and you can't hit them. But they can turn and pop one bullet at you and it's ggs

Otherwise, this game is great. If you told me this was in Early Access, I would believe you and recommend it as it has a lot of potential. But no. It's been released for almost 7 years now

Early Access Review
Overall a fairly good program but OMG most of the tracking scenarios are terrible. The AI will frequently spawn bots in the same place with the same pathing. If you are hear improve at tracking, then get Kovaak's

A excellent finale to the Modern Warefare trilogy. The campaign not only is well written and fun to play, but it also expands upon the gameplay by adding new mechanics to play with.

The multiplayer is also one of the most fun and forgiving to any skill level out of all of the Call of Duty games. It's a shame that Activision hasn't expanded upon this game further.
