Monster hunter is a great franchise and I love each and every game i've played in it, including wilds even if its low on my list. I think the game is great even if it needs some improvements.


My issue is the DLC.
Looking through the DLC I see 4 dollars for individual ( collab ) emotes, 1 dollar 50 for individual face paints and pendants, 2-3 dollars for gesture packs and some individual gestures that look like they *should* just be basic emotes. There's also 8 dollar layered armor sets and character edit vouchers for sale.

Looking through all of this really just hit me with the realization of what could have been. Each and every one of those emotes could have added to the game. A fun and quirky event quest for some stickers, a massive or tiny version of certain monsters for new gestures, a difficult hunt against multiple extra beefy tempered monsters in the wounded hollow for an outfit for Alma.

There are so many ways these DLC could have been implemented, but capcom chose to sell them separately. In the old games these would have been rewards from event quests, stuff you had to work for, extra content you could do aside from just hunting over and over for better gear and new decorations. Instead of showing off the shiny new emote you earned to your friends ( If you actually have any ) you show them the singular emote you had to fork over a 17th of the games price for, or 8th of its price for a layered armor set.

I absolutely love this game, both for how fun its gameplay is, and that it lets you know if there is some issue with connecting to steam. I accidentally opened this lovely game and it helped me save my Most played game on steam from becoming completely unplayable, all with that one little "error with connecting to steam" message. Just had to fully exit steam and log back in. Robot fight game go brr very fun, much recommend.

10/10 would astronomically low odds again
