Gaijin has mostly fixed the economy, which is impressive. My original review is still below for the sake of posterity.

I have 1,265 hours in this game, the vast majority of that while paying for their premium membership. Yet despite the x2 multiplier that gives to the in game currency I get, I frequently get a net negative amount of money when playing at higher tiers. Each time I unlock a new vehicle, I have to spend hours and hours and hours grinding while using a premium vehicle (which gives an additional x2 multiplier) in order to make enough money to buy it. Only for me to use that vehicle and continue to lose money, even when I get a positive K/D in matches.

Apparently, none of this is Gaijin's fault for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game's economy so much. Its actually OUR fault for not recognizing that "good gameplay" requires hundreds of hours of grinding even for people who are already paying Gaijin to play. Gaijin is incredibly greedy and out of touch with their player base. Until they fix the economy I'm gonna have to keep this negative review.

And BTW Gaijin, begging people to not review bomb your game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic. We know review bombing the game is going to drive people away from it. THATS OUR GOAL. Because unless you stop making money, you wont fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ economy. Despite what you claim, you dont actually care about your players or our feedback anymore, so we have to cut off your income for you to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ listen to us.
