Phenomenally good game. Been on my radar for a while, but I only finally picked it up on a recent sale. Having now played the game I can say that Its still absolutely worth the full price. I dont wanna spend too long writing this review, but the game was so amazing. The world design, the exploration, the enemies, the uniqueness of every level, and the weapons. Oh man, the weapons are all so awesome. This man managed to make a first person shooter in a setting without guns, and still managed to give it an incredibly interesting and varied weapon sandbox.
The only real minor gripe I have is that the throwing axe and the throwing sword are far too similar of weapons. I think it would have been much more interesting if the axe maybe did more damage and just be normal throwing axes affected by gravity. I know, thats basically what the spear is, but that doesnt show up until fairly late in the game and has very little ammo. I think the axe or the sword being more unique from the other would add some more variety to the early/mid game weapons sandbox.
But yeah, in terms of graphics, the game obviously isnt winning any awards for ultra high definition realistic environments, but the environments still felt stunningly beautiful. The design of the environment and the large open spaces makes the game genuinely one of the most beautiful I've played in a while. And the music really helps with the environment as well. Anyways, theres a lot more I could say, but I dont wanna spend all night rambling about this game I just played. Just buy the game. If you in any way like PvE first person shooters, exploration, metroidvanias, or just think crossbows are cool, then you need to play this game.

What a thrill...

Gaijin has mostly fixed the economy, which is impressive. My original review is still below for the sake of posterity.

I have 1,265 hours in this game, the vast majority of that while paying for their premium membership. Yet despite the x2 multiplier that gives to the in game currency I get, I frequently get a net negative amount of money when playing at higher tiers. Each time I unlock a new vehicle, I have to spend hours and hours and hours grinding while using a premium vehicle (which gives an additional x2 multiplier) in order to make enough money to buy it. Only for me to use that vehicle and continue to lose money, even when I get a positive K/D in matches.

Apparently, none of this is Gaijin's fault for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game's economy so much. Its actually OUR fault for not recognizing that "good gameplay" requires hundreds of hours of grinding even for people who are already paying Gaijin to play. Gaijin is incredibly greedy and out of touch with their player base. Until they fix the economy I'm gonna have to keep this negative review.

And BTW Gaijin, begging people to not review bomb your game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic. We know review bombing the game is going to drive people away from it. THATS OUR GOAL. Because unless you stop making money, you wont fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ economy. Despite what you claim, you dont actually care about your players or our feedback anymore, so we have to cut off your income for you to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ listen to us.

I know it says recommended, but this is more of a situational recommendation. So far I love this game. Its genuinely the exact type of game I've been searching for for years.

There is just one huge issue: no multiplayer.

No online multiplayer, no LAN multiplayer, not even hot-seat multiplayer.
That is just insane to me, multiplayer should be an absolute no-brainier for turn based strategy games such as this, and for many many people, a deciding factor for whether or not they will buy the game. I will still play and enjoy this game in single player, but I have multiple friends who would have bought this game as well if only it had multiplayer.

The devs did mention that adding multiplayer to the game could be a possibility if the players want it. I'm just trying to make it as clear as possible that people do want this. If you are reading this and are a player who is turned off by the lack of multiplayer, vote this review as helpful and wishlist the game.

Edit: Changed the review to recommended to appease the people spamming comments thinking a single negative review (which says the game is actually good in the very first sentence) on a game labeled "very positive" is somehow going to destroy the dev's whole career.

Its Dwarf Fortress, but actually playable without a PHD. What else do I have to say? Buy it.

I have never played this game in my life, but for some reason Steam thinks I have, so I can write a review. Im gonna not recommend it because I like Post Scriptum and that game needs more players.

I don't know what to say other than that I really love this game. The music, the aesthetic, the dialogue, the story, just everything.
