Why doesn't Steam have a Furry tag yet? :<

No game's cracked this many eggs since Celeste came out. I rate it egg/egg; best game.

Very much Early Access in terms of bugs and features, but it definitely looks to be a worthy successor to ITR1. Pick this up if you enjoy being part of the EA process, else wait for it to cook a little. It's got the same bones as its predecessor, so I'd say it's very likely to be just as good a game once polishing kicks in

Some changes I've noticed so far that I very much like:

- Home base has a lot more room for storage and equipment and makes far better use of the space. The mannequins and backpack racks along with those being individually equippable items make it possible to set up loadouts that are grab-and-go
- Lefty vs Righty chest rigs solve many of the issues I had with the first game being cross-eye dominant and mix-handed. Note about this: If you are left-handed or have to shoot left-handed you have to buy the left-handed version in the store. However, you can sell the starting rig for the same price as the one in the store, so you don't lose any credits doing so
- Different rig layouts adds nice variation to different playstyles
- New animations in a lot of small details and better graphical detail make things feel well immersive, even with the early state the game is in
- Environmental hazards in the Radius are reworked in a way that feels better to engage with than in ITR1
- Checkers! :D

Some things that still need work:

- Certain pieces of equippment, such as the anomaly detector and tablet, are locked to specific body slots in a way that can be obtuse, especially for lefty's
- Not as interactive environments atm. Not as many things can be grabbed and moved in its current state
- Model IK is a bit clunky, although might be a matter of taste. Currently the IK 'freezes' in-place until you move a certain distance, presumably to avoid the issue of an item slot moving constantly as you try to reach for it
- Player's collision box is a bit too large and make it difficult to get close to certain objects such as tables and shelves
- No starting knife (or melee weapons of any matter from what I've played so far). I want my stabby stab :<

On the whole, though, I expect this game will quickly surpass ITR1, even if it's not quite there yet

Go play Resonite instead. It's Neos without the cryptobro's and very active development

A very cute yote [and other animals] simulator c: It's rough and very much indie, but if you're like me you're not playing for polish <3

Resonite, out of all the social VR platforms, by far has the most potential to be a true metaverse (in the non-terrible, non-meta way). I'm finding as I play it more and more, the simple fact that everything is built in-game enables me to make content much more than I ever could in VRChat. Even though the Unity editor is much more ergonomic than Resonite's default tools, I don't have to leave VR to add something and then spend time waiting for uploads to finish or shaders to compile. As a result, if I get an idea for something I can start working on it immediately instead of having to wait until later, and never actually getting around to making it. For example, I was in a world and someone had a little minecraft fox there. I got an idea to clone it and add it to my avatar as a little companion. 2 minutes later and I have a little fox sitting on my shoulder now. 5 more minutes and she now has a little nametag above her head just like mine so everyone can see her name is Kit. I save my avi and she's now a permanent addition. Plus I still have even more ideas for things to add to make her more interactable. I could never do any of that in VRChat. To do so, I'd have to remember the idea until after I decide to exit the game (often even longer if I have to sleep first), then hunt down or make the assets I want, then add them in Unity, then the export-test-export cycle, then replicate to Quest, and then repeat all of that if i want to iterate on the idea. Personally, I simply don't have the spoons.

There are some heavy caveats to this, though. For one, the learning process can be a little painful due to a current lack of tutorials and documentation, especially if you don't already come from a developer background. However, Resonite has a strong mentor culture to compensate and if you join any public instance chances are there's someone around who can help you work on the thing you're trying to do. Likewise, this game is a direct continuation of NeosVR. Much of the tutorials and documentation for Neos works almost identically in Resonite.

Additionally, the default tools and UX are very much lacking. There are a ton of community-made tools that make up for this, but the game does a poor job of telling you they exist. The public folders that contain these tools are pretty freely passed around, though, so asking around folk who've been playing a while can usually get you access to these pretty quickly.

Lastly, this is a pretty performance-heavy game. It's very much EA coming out of a previous game that's been stalled from development for over 3 years, so various parts of the engine have not been optimized just yet.

That all said, there are things you can do in this game that you simply cannot in any other VR platform. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes making things, even in it's current early state.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind CS2 as a sequel, but it really should have been it's own title on steam rather than wholesale replacing CSGO. Certain maps and modes like gungame are not currently present, the revamped visuals means players on lower end hardware are needlessly cut out from playing the game, and --my personal gripe against this-- all the achievements were removed

I'm a perpetually online gamer on the internet. You best bet I'm salty that my shiny virtual png's I sometimes looked at are no longer there >:c

I went to the store and bought milk today. Where I'm from milk comes in cartons and not bags, so in a way it was milk inside a box of milk inside a box of milk inside a box....

I am very appreciative for what this game is and of the main character. I've never seen another piece of media show these kinds of thought paths and just how difficult a simple task like buying some milk can be rendered. I have a condition that shares very similar experiences to what's depicted here and the exact same quality of thoughts. This game makes me feel seen in a deeply profound way that I'm simply not used to from any other media

I'm absolutely shocked how a game like this that is reasonably polished and has good production values only has 4 reviews after nearly 2 years since release. So far I've only played through the tutorial and a skirmish match, but from what I've seen the game has good variety, strong replay value (even in single player modes), and a combat model that seems to allow for a high skill ceiling

Moreover, this game *feels* complete. It's not an EA title with a dozen missing and half-baked features; it's a full product. For $10, I'd say that's well worth it
