Ultimately this is a fine compilation. Bit pricier than it should be, it should contain tweaks like the ones made for CD and the 1&2 mobile ports but it's... fine

being very honest, i would recommend you get definitive edition over II HD (this version)

yes, it's still AoE2. yes, it's still good. but the insane amount of things, from display of information to general handling with keybinds, that DE does better is hard to put into words, on top of having more content and being still regularly updated.

DE also fixes a bunch of issues with the content made for this version of the game, specifically the campaigns - they feel very amateurish in this version (hindsight is 20/20, obviously!!!!) and DE fixes a lot of the knicks and knacks and makes them much more fun to play.

the only reason you should get this is if your PC cannot handle DE. and if it can't, you should do yourself a service and get one that can run it.
