playing this reminded of all the things i hate about early SMT.

fortunately, this is the perfect kind of game the touhou audience would love. in a lot of regards, it's put together perfectly - resistances and weaknesses are meaningful, the phone mechanics are pretty neat and interesting, the soundtrack bangs and the art looks fantastic. i just wish i personally liked it more but it is what it is!!

The clutch claw is cool. The balance around it is not.

a bad doom game but a decent game overall, at least the BFG edition. i do not know what they were thinking back in the day requiring a separate flash light in a game that requires you to be close to your guns.

this edition does "fix" some issues like lighting and how dark the game is but really it doesnt fix anything, it's still doom 3. still looks fine in 2025 for what it's worth.

very strange ideas, still doom in some regards - enemies around the corners and such - but if you want the "real" doom 3, go play doom 64. yeah it's not made by id but its more doom 3 than this game.

also BFG includes doom 1 and 2 which was novel at the time but we live in a world where you can play enhanced versions of those games, either by modding or playing the nightdive versions, so it's a whatever addons 20 years later.

back from when platinum used to actually make games. a fun action romp all around.

obvious downside is the story to game ration : game is relatively short (handful of hours) but story is omnipresent with several several cutscenes. if you don't think it you can just skip them.

if money:time value is a concern then just simply grab the game on sale. i think it's a neat little package worth at least thinking about.

slavjank (affectionate) but greatly enhanced because you get a dragon. better game than its prequel in part because it lets you instantly rout weaker enemies to minimize you getting rocked. fun time overall, love my dragon

hear me out : what if you wanted to play an open world game with combat based around the early HoMM games? great news, that game exists, it's this one, and it can be yours for like 7 dollars. not convinced? it goes on sale for like a dollar. pure rpg slavjank (affectionate) served on a platter just for you my lord, at more than affordable prices.

the game is fine. levels are okay, story is fine, but i am leaving a thumbs down because this game is *nauseating* to play. your camera constantly shakes no matter what you do. melee attack? shaky cam. shoot? shaky cam. run? insanely shaky cam. attacked? shaky cam.

it's not the first or the last game i've played where the camera moves a lot but the way it moves in *this* game made me insanely nauseous and for that alone i do not recommend it. the game stands at very positive on steam, and i can see why, but i just cannot get over how sick it made me.

good remaster by nightdive, the logical follow up to doom 1 & 2, but also not a very easy game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

game requires a bethesda account, but you can skip the "requirement" by just cancelling the prompt. goes on sale for like 2 dollars, so a decent pick up!
