It's not the best choice... It's Spacer's Choice!!

-Gameplay is not what is advertised.
-You do not build ships... You are locked into hull classes that you outfit with guns and tweek settings on them. Get's Borring Quick.
-Far too much RNG/Luck involved to be enjoyable
-Player AI and Enemy AI are grossly mismatched.
-Enemy AI with "green" crew has a much higher chance to hit and strike critical areas on your ship while your crew of "veterans" just randomly fires shots that mostly miss.

The trailer was amazing!
The opening cutscene was interesting a beautiful!
The roar of your drop ship falling into the alien planet's atmosphere was exciting

The door opens and you are find yourself in a un-original, cookie cutter, generic, survival game. Wolves, Bears, and Deer included.

On the positive side, Game runs fairly smoothly. Storms are interesting for about a minute or two, and I didn't run into any noticable bugs.

Overall if you want a really simplified version of a survival game, Ikarus could be what your looking for.

Very basic Demo but looking really promising.

Game has pretty extreme "motion blur" with no options to disable it. Very nausiating after 10 min of gameplay. UNinstalled and refunded

I found this game to be a lot more like Frostpunk than Banished (Banished is way more forgiving).

In End Zone, you basically micro manage the hell out of everything while dealing with constant crisis thrown at you. There is very very little room for error and very little time between crisis to correct any errors; which often leads to massive die offs. There is also very little room for creativity as you are forced to build things in a very specific order in a very specific time frame.

With all that being said, I am still going to give this game a thumbs up. If you enjoy Frostpunk and Constant Crisis City Management games, you will probably enjoy this game too.

Just wasn't my cup of tea.

Early Access done RIGHT!

Pros
Solid and easy to understand core mechanics
40 hours no crashes or noticeable bugs
No lag or FPS issues even on this toaster
Pleasing styalized graphics and music
Doesn't hog up your enitre hard-drive
Huge and I mean HUGE world.
Great building mechanics, (still needs a bit of work but you can build just about anything you can imagine)
Fun to play with friends or solo.

a few Cons
-First two bosses can be soloed. 3rd boss was impossible solo. (haven't attempted 4th and 5th yet)
-Sailing and constant storms is more of a chore than it is fun (sailing is a must to get anywhere)
-Awkward food mechanic tied directly to Stam/HP pool causes huge dives in your HP or Stam instead of a gradual decline. Especially problematic when in a big fight. (note to devs: when one is fighting for their life, They don't suddenly get the noms ;) )

Overall this Early Access gem is in a better state than most fully released AAA games so KUDOS to the devs for doing EA right.

A builder's paradise

Overall just a mediocre survival game, Nothing in the game really feels epic or worth doing. Still feels like an alpha version pushed out way too early. Farming is a chore, crafting is a chore, building is a chore, taming is both a chore and pointless.

Hell even flying a dragon, which you would think would feel rewarding, turns into a huge joke as your character clumsily bounces around on it's back like an idiot who never learned how to fly.

Overall fun 2D building/survival game. The "Meeps" cause lots of Facepalms and frustration, but can't help but laugh at the little buggers and their shananagans.
